A 1980 graduate of Grove CityCollege, the Honorable Paul J.McNulty, J.D., enters his first yearas the College’s ninth President.

President McNulty returned toGrove City after serving as apartner in the global law firmBaker & McKenzie, where hechaired the firm’s corporatecompliance and investigationspractice. He is widelyrecognized as a leading voiceon business ethics and globalanti-corruption matters.

He joined Baker & McKenzie in 2007 after more than twodecades of public service, primarily as a leader in United Stateslaw enforcement efforts.

From 2005 to 2007, President McNulty served as U.S. DeputyAttorney General, the second highest-ranking official in theJustice Department and the chief operating officer of over100,000 Department employees. In that role, he led an attackon corporate fraud, successfully argued a police conduct casebefore the U.S. Supreme Court, and organized the U.S. rule oflaw efforts in Iraq.

PRESIDENT PAUL MCNULTY

Dr. Don Lyle is in his 13th yearas athletic director at GroveCity College. Lyle is Chairmanof the Department of PhysicalEducation and Athletics andAthletic Director.

In that role, Lyle oversees theCollege’s fitness and wellnessprogram, its rapidly-growingexercise science major andGrove City’s 19-sport varsityathletics program.

Lyle coached Grove City’smen’s soccer team from 1972

to 2005. As head coach, he led the Wolverines to six post-season berths, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Champi-onship Tournament.

In 2005, his final season as head coach, Lyle guided GroveCity to its first-ever outright Presidents’ Athletic Conferencetitle and a trip to the finals of the Eastern College AthleticConference Southern Championship Tournament. He earnedthe PAC’s Coach of the Year award that year.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR DON LYLELyle also directed Grove City to a share of the PAC men’ssoccer title in 1996 as Grove City went 16-2. The Wolverinesset a school record for victories in a season and won theirfirst ECAC title.

Lyle-coached teams also advanced to post-season play in1976, 1980 and 2000. In 34 years as head coach, he compileda 277-206-37 record. The College inducted him into its Men’sSoccer Hall of Fame in October 2006.

Lyle also started the women’s softball program at Grove City,posting a 91-61 (.599) record from 1980-88 as head coach.Lyle then spent nine years as baseball coach at Grove City.

In addition to his academic duties as department chair, Lyle isa professor of physical education. He is also chairman of theGrove City College Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

A native of Calcutta, Ohio, Lyle earned his bachelor of artsdegree from Muskingum College in 1971. He earned hismaster’s degree in education from Miami of Ohio. Lyle re-ceived his doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Lyle and his wife Barbara live in Pine Township. They havethree adult children and nine grandchildren.

From 2001 to 2005, President McNulty served as the U.S.Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. The U.S. Senateconfirmed him for this position three days after theSeptember 11 terrorist attacks and his office handlednumerous terrorist prosecutions. Earlier in his career, from1990 to 1993, he served as the Justice Department’s ChiefSpokesman and Director of Legal Policy.

His career also includes 11 years as a senior lawyer onCapitol Hill, where he served as the Chief Counsel andDirector of Legislative Operations for the Majority Leader ofthe U.S. House of Representatives and Chief Counsel for theHouse Subcommittee on Crime. He began his legal career in1983 as Counsel for the House Ethics Committee.

President McNulty received the College’s Alumni Achievementaward in 1998. The College awarded him an honorarydoctorate in 2007. He also received an honorary doctorate in2003 from Capital University School of Law, where he receivedhis Juris Doctorate in 1983.

He is the fourth alumnus to serve as President of the College,where he studied history and met his wife Brenda (Millican'80). The McNultys have three daughters, Katy (McNulty '07)Hittinger, Anni (McNulty) Blankenship and Corrie '14. Their sonJoseph died of cancer in 2012 at the age of 26 whileattending law school.

After a strong finish to the 2013 season, the Grove CityCollege football team will look to carry that momentuminto 2014 as the Wolverines look to return to the top of thePresidents' Athletic Conference.

Several standouts return on both sides of the ball forGrove City, which has 15 returning starters among its 37returning lettermen.

Head coach Chris Smith, now entering his 31st seasonat the helm, will count on that veteran group as the founda-tion for this season's successes.

OFFENSEGrove City's offensive line play over the past several

seasons has allowed the Wolverine attack to emerge asone of the conference's most balanced offenses on a con-sistent basis.

Four starters return up front this fall, along with a handfulof experienced veterans.

Senior Jason Glacken returns at left tackle while sopho-more Mitch Zajicek returns at left guard.

Senior Ron Dornin made nine starts at center in 2013and will anchor the offensive line while junior right guardAlex Jewell returns for his third season as a starter.

Senior guard Zach Kepple has played extensively dur-ing his career and will look to reclaim a starting spot afterbeing sidelined by injury for part of 2013.

Classmate Andrew Stupakis will also compete for timeat guard.

Junior Jake Jaszcar will look to claim the vacant righttackle spot after seeing duty as a reserve in each of his firsttwo seasons. Senior Adam Shick moves from tackle to tight end and

will compete with junior Donny Haney for the starting nod.Second-year player Alex Carsey is also in the mix at tightend.

The Grove City backfield features several veterans atboth tailback and wingback. At tailback, junior Steve Maskreyreturns as the starter after rushing for a team-high 677yards and 10 touchdowns last year.

Maskrey will be joined by versatile junior Gabriel Mooreat tailback. Moore caught 18 passes last year and alsoaveraged 4.0 yards per carry.

Sophomore Tyler Ramsey will also look to break intothe backfield lineup this fall.

Senior Sam Ivan, junior Zach Rader and sophomoreZach Gazdacko all saw ample time at wingback in GroveCity's multiple spread attack. Ivan finished third on the teamwith 130 rushing yards last year. He also caught 14 passes.

Rader played in eight games before being sidelinedby injury while Gazdacko emerged in Rader's stead. Bothare expected to be key contributors in both the rushingand passing game this year.

Senior Brian Wells will also likely factor into the GroveCity offense as a blocking back and pass receiver out ofthe backfield. He caught two passes last year - both ofwhich went for touchdowns. Wells is a three-yearletterwinner.

Grove City enters 2014 with less certainty at quarter-back, however. Junior Josh Peach completed 9 of 12 passesin 2013 and is a two-year letterman. He has the inside trackto start this fall.

Sophomore Aaron Lundmark and junior Drew Choreyare among those who will compete with Peach for the job.

Graduation thinned Grove City's wide receiver ranks asthe team's top three men at that position are gone. JuniorDavid Folkmire returns after catching five passes last year.

Converted quarterback P.J. Wycech will also look toearn a full-time spot this year, as will sophomore letterwinnerLuke Brancato.

DEFENSEInjuries and inexperience hampered the Grove City de-

fense last season but the Wolverines appear to be in primeposition to return to the top of the conference's statisticalrankings.

The Wolverines led the league in total defense in both2010 and 2012 and will rely on several returning veteransto help lead the 2014 unit.

Grove City returns two starting linebackers in seniorJason Skyrm and junior Bobby Tuttle. Skyrm is a two-yearstarter on the strong side and racked up 82 tackles lastyear, including a team-high 10.5 for loss.

Tuttle started nine games at middle linebacker in 2013and recorded 64 stops, along with two interceptions.

Juniors Brandon Berringer and Jason Dillon are eachtwo-year lettermen who will battle for a starting spot onthe inside.

On the outside, juniors Tyler Campbell and Joe Siefertboth saw time in 2014 and will challenge for starting posi-tions in 2014.

Junior Brent Veerman returns as Grove City's startingnose tackle after emerging in 2013. He started all 10 gamesand shared the team lead with 3.5 sacks.

Junior Bobby Tuttle (39) and senior Jason Skyrm (35) aretwo returning starters at linebacker. Tuttle returns at insidelinebacker while Skyrm returns at outside linebacker.

Veerman will again look to anchor the defensive line in2014.

Junior Ryan Hickey is a two-year starter and a return-ing Academic All-District selection at end. Hickey startedsix games in 2013 before a season-ending injury curtaileda promising season. He is expected to reclaim a startingspot this fall.

Seniors Robert Rollick and Reese Swatsworth both sawaction on the defensive line in 2013 and will pursue full-time starting spots this year.

Senior Nate Ealy and junior Ben McKnight are also look-ing to earn time up front for the Wolverines this fall.

Grove City's secondary features four players whostarted at least one game in 2013. Sophomores JimmyCianciola and Miles Milner finished their respective rookieseasons as the Wolverines' starting cornerbacks.

Senior Ryan Duran will also compete for a startingcornerback position. Sophomore Ned Hull is the lone re-turning letterwinner at safety.

SPECIAL TEAMSWhile Grove City has some vacancies on both offense

and defense, the kicking game features several returningstandouts.

Sophomore kicker Ryan Stewart went 3 for 4 on fieldgoals last year while also drilling 25 extra points.

Meanwhile, sophomore punter Anthony Marnejon av-eraged 35.6 yards per kick last year. He forced 11 faircatches and had just two touchbacks in 2013.

Junior Nick Piett is back for his third season as GroveCity's punt snapper while Dornin returns as the snapper forplacekicks. Chorey returns as holder.

Folkmire and Moore may again handle kickoffs whileIvan has had duty at both kick and punt returner through-out his career. Several other players will likely compete fortime as return men this year.

Junior nose tackle Brent Veerman is a returning starter onthe defensive line for Grove City. He tied for the team leadin quarterback sacks last season.

Chris Smith enters his31st season as Grove CityCollege’s head footballcoach.

A 1972 Grove City Col-lege graduate, Smith isthe dean of the Presidents’Athletic Conference foot-ball coaches.

He is also the all-timewins leader in the 119-year history of Grove Cityfootball. In 2012, Smithguided the Wolverines toa 6-4 overall mark and a

5-3 record in the rugged Presidents’ Athletic Conference.The 2012 Wolverines led the conference in total defense

and senior tailback Shane Kaclik became the third 1,000-yardrusher in program history.

Grove City also led the nation in fewest penalty yards pergame in 2012. The Wolverines ranked third nationally in thatcategory in 2011.

Overall, Grove City has been the least-penalized team inthe conference seven times in the last nine seasons, includingthe 2013 season. The youthful Wolverines went 5-5 last year.

Numerous Grove City players have earned national andregional acclaim during his tenure. In 2005, safety Aaron Margoearned First Team All-America from the American FootballCoaches Association (AFCA) and represented the U.S. in theAztec Bowl.

In 2007, center Matt Gregg became Grove City’s third AztecBowl participant this decade. In 2010, tackle Pete Polesnakrepresented the United States in the Bowl of the Stars, theAztec Bowl’s successor, while nose tackle Jarred Frawley par-ticipated in the 2011 Bowl of the Stars.

Kaclik, linebacker Jason Ferguson and guard Josh Bermannall represented the United States in the 2012 Bowl of the Stars.Former Wolverine standouts Ben Manwaring, Ethan Martinand Anthony Ritchie all played in the 2013 Bowl of the Stars.

Under Smith’s direction, the Wolverine program ascendedinto the national picture with consecutive PAC championshipsin 1997 and 1998. Grove City also recorded runner-up fin-ishes in both 1999 and 2000.

During that time, Smith guided an offensive juggernautthat featured record-setting fullback R.J. Bowers, who becamethe first college running back to eclipse the 7,000-yard markfor his career.

In 1997, Smith led the Wolverines to their first-ever PACchampionship and first nine-win season in program history.

Grove City capped the season by hosting the United StatesMerchant Marine Academy in the ECAC Southwest Bowl.

For his efforts that season, the American Football CoachesAssociation, the Metropolitan New York Writers Associationand the PAC all honored Smith as their Coach of the Year.

HEAD COACH CHRIS SMITHIn 1995, Smith earned the Tri-State Officials Association’s

Coach of the Year award.Overall, Smith has coached seven players who have at-

tained All-American status as well as countless others whohave earned ECAC and PAC recognition through the years.

The Wolverines’ on-field success has been matched bysuccess in the classroom. Over the past two decades, numer-ous Grove City players have received recognition both re-gionally and nationally for their academic performances.

Grove City’s four CoSIDA Academic All-District selectionsin 2005 set a new program record.

Grove City again matched that standard in 2006.In 2008, linebacker Adam Eichler and guard Dave Salera

both earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors followingthe season.

Eichler, Salera and wide receiver Stephen Mercer all earnedAcademic All-District recognition in 2008.

Defensive back Chris Gibbs became the first Grove Cityjunior to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American follow-ing the 2012 season. In 2013, Gibbs became the program’sfirst-ever two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Gibbs, Joe Diani, Ryan Hickey, Sam Ivan and Ritchie allearned CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition last year,setting a new single-season program record with five All-Dis-trict selections.

A highly-respected member of the coaching community,Smith is actively involved on the American Football CoachesAssociation Division III Football Council.

He is also a past member of the NCAA Division III Foot-ball Committee, which supervises the NCAA Division III play-offs.

Smith ascended to the head coaching position at GroveCity in 1984 after spending five years as an assistant at theCollege.

Prior to joining the Grove City football staff in 1979, Smithcoached the outside linebackers at Western Kentucky Univer-sity.

Smith’s coaching career began at Perry High School in hishometown of Massillon, Ohio.

From 1996 to 2003, Smith also held the role of Director ofAthletics at Grove City. Grove City teams won 59 total Presi-dents’ Athletic Conference titles during that span, includingtitles in 17 different sports.

As a player, Smith started at safety for the Wolverinesfrom 1968-71. He led the team in interceptions three timesand holds Grove City’s career record for interceptions with22.

Over his 39 years as a player, assistant coach and headcoach at Grove City, Smith has been involved in 370 games.

Smith graduated from Grove City in 1972 with a bachelor’sdegree in history. He then completed his master’s degree atWestern Kentucky.

He and his wife, Barbara, live in Grove City. Their daugh-ter Ellie is a 2003 Grove City College graduate.

Rob SkaricichDEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/SECONDARY

Rob Skaricich enters his 12th year asdefensive coordinator and his 18th yearoverall at Grove City. In 2012, Grove Cityled the Presidents’ Athletic Conferencein total defense and fewest first downsallowed. Grove City ranked nationally inthe top 25 in both of those categories.

The Wolverines allowed just 283 yardsper game, the fewest for a Grove Citydefense in 14 years. Grove City also ledthe conference in total defense in 2010.

Last year, safety Chris Gibbs became the first Grove City playerto twice earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.

Under his guidance, two Grove City defensive backs haverepresented the U.S. in the Aztec Bowl. Brock McCullough playedin the 2000 Aztec Bowl while safety Aaron Margo played in the2005 Aztec Bowl.

A native of Wickliffe, Ohio, Skaricich spent four seasons atMarietta before joining the Grove City staff.

Skaricich played cornerback at Hiram College, graduating in1991. He earned his master’s degree from Cleveland State in 1993.

Skaricich is also the head baseball coach at Grove City. He ledthe Wolverines to conference titles in 2001, 2002 and 2008, alongwith the PAC regular season title in 2011. In 2008, he guided GroveCity to its first-ever NCAA Championship Tournament berth. The2011 Wolverines captured the Eastern College Athletic Confer-ence Tournament title.

Dr. Jim ChinnOFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/RUNNING BACKS

Dr. Jim Chinn is in his 12th year as anassistant football coach at Grove CityCollege.

Chinn joined the Grove City staff in2003 after four years as head coach atBlackburn College (Ill.).

A 1983 Ohio State graduate, Chinn willagain oversee what has developed intoone of the region’s most diverse andbalanced offensive attacks.

He became passing game coordina-tor in 2006 and served as special teams coordinator from 2003 to2012. This is his second season as offensive coordinator.

Prior to becoming head coach at Blackburn, Chinn workedthere as an assistant for two seasons. He also spent four years asan assistant coach at Denison University.

Chinn’s collegiate coaching career began at Norwich Univer-sity in 1992 as wide receivers coach. He also coached for six yearsat the scholastic level in Ohio, coaching at Westerville South (1986-89) and Ironton Rock Hill (1990-91).

Chinn earned his master’s degree from Norwich in 1993 andcompleted his doctorate in July 2011. He is also an assistant trackand field coach at Grove City.

Todd GibsonOUTSIDE LINEBACKERS/STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Todd Gibson enters his 11th seasonas the Wolverines’ outside linebackerscoach. He is also the program’s strengthand conditioning coordinator.

A 2002 Grove City graduate, Gibsonjoined the staff prior to the start of the2004 season. His work with the lineback-ers has helped Grove City lead the Presi-dents’ Athletic in total defense in both2010 and 2012.

Gibson started at split end for the Wol-verines in 2000 and 2001. He led Grove City in receptions, yardsand touchdowns as a senior in 2001.

Gibson earned a bachelor of arts degree in political sciencefrom Grove City in May 2002, then added a bachelor’s degree inintegrated social studies/secondary education from nearby Young-stown State. He earned his master’s degree in exercise sciencefrom California University of Pennsylvania in 2006.

Gibson also works as Grove City’s head men’s and women’strack and field coach. In 2014, he guided both the men’s andwomen’s programs to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference title.Gibson also serves as an assistant professor of physical educationand exercise science and assistant athletic director at the College.

Matt GreggOFFENSIVE LINE/SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR

Matt Gregg is in his seventh season asoffensive line coach at Grove City.

The 2014 season will also be his sec-ond as the Wolverines’ special teams co-ordinator.

Gregg works with offensive line coachBernie Davis in coordinating the Wol-verines’ line play. He also handles thepreparation and editing of video for theprogram.

Gregg started each of his final threeseasons at center for Grove City. In 2007, he served as team co-captain.

He capped his career by playing on a Division III all-star teamthat represented the United States against Mexico in the AztecBowl.

Gregg earned First Team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conferencerecognition in both his junior and senior season. He also earnedSecond Team All-PAC as a sophomore in 2005 while lettering ineach of his four seasons.

A graduate of Hopewell High School, Gregg graduated witha bachelor’s degree in communication in May 2008.

He completed his master’s of exercise science from CaliforniaUniversity of Pennsylvania and is an assistant professor of physi-cal education and exercise science at Grove City.

Gregg also works as an assistant track and field coach atGrove City.

Considered asone of the top col-legiate athletictrainers in the

country, Emigh earned her bachelor’s of sci-ence degree from Slippery Rock University in1983.

She also received a master’s of educa-tion from SRU in 1986.

A native of Elizabeth, Pa., Emigh is amember of the National Athletic Trainers As-sociation (NATA), the Eastern Athletic Train-ers Association (EATA) and the PennsylvaniaAthletic Trainers’ Society.

Emigh also served as the northwest rep-resentative for the Pennsylvania AthleticTrainers’ Society Board of Directors from2001-2004.

She lives in Liberty Township with herhusband, Tom.

A native ofGirard, Pa., DanPesta enters hisfirst season asGrove City’s widereceivers and tightends coach.

Pesta played de-fensive tackle forGrove City from2007 to 2010 and

helped the Wolverines lead the Presidents’Athletic Conference in total defense as a se-nior.

During that 2010 season, Pesta played inall 10 games and ranked fifth among theteam’s defensive linemen with three tacklesfor loss.

Pesta graduated from Grove City in 2011with a bachelor’s degree in political sciencewhile also minoring in communication stud-ies.

He works for U.S.I.S. in Grove City andlives in nearby New Wilmington.

Rick Hawke is inhis second stint asassistant athletictrainer at GroveCity College.

He returned tothe College prior tothe 2004-05 aca-demic year.

Hawke originallycame to Grove City

in 1997 as assistant athletic trainer.He worked five seasons at Grove City be-

fore moving to Union (Pa.) High School fortwo years.

2000, Davis coached the secondary and theoutside linebackers for three seasons each.

Davis has worked with numerousstandout linemen at Grove City, includingtackle Pete Polesnak (2010), guard JoshBermann (2012) and tackle Ethan Martin(2013), who respectively represented theUnited States in the “Bowl of the Stars” inMexico.

Davis came to Grove City after eight sea-sons as head coach at nearby Lakeview HighSchool in Stoneboro. He also spent five yearsas an assistant coach at Thiel College

A 1975 graduate of Geneva College, Davisadded a master’s degree from Edinboro in1983. He spent 33 years as a science teacherat Lakeview before retiring.

A veteran ofMercer Countyfootball, DennisBornes is in his16th season asGrove City’s insidelinebackers coach.

While at GroveCity, Bornes hascoached some ofthe region’s pre-

mier inside linebackers. He has coached theschool’s all-time tackles leader, Mike Choby,as well as single-season tackle leader CaseyCreehan.

Bornes also coached the College’s No. 2all-time leading tackler, Adam Corbett,CoSIDA Academic All-American Adam Eichlerand three-time All-Conference honoree Ja-son Ferguson, who represented the UnitedStates in the 2012 Bowl of the Stars.

A native of Sharpsville, Bornes coachedfor eight seasons at Hickory and KennedyCatholic High Schools in Hermitage.

Founded in 1955, the Presidents’ Athletic Confer-ence continues its mission of promoting intercollegiateathletics and the pursuit of academic excellence.

Comprised of 10 select private colleges - BethanyCollege, Chatham University, Geneva College, GroveCity College, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, Tho-mas More College, Washington & Jefferson College,Waynesburg University and Westminster College - thePAC remains a unique organization in this day of high-pressure intercollegiate athletics.

With academics at the center of each member’sphilosophy, the PAC is built on the principle that anathletic program is a part of college life, but not anentity in itself.

During the 2005-06 academic year, Chatham,Geneva and Saint Vincent all joined the PAC. Chathamcompeted for PAC championships for the first timeduring the 2007-08 academic year.

Saint Vincent first competed for conference titlesin 2010-11. Geneva became eligible for conference titlesin 2011-12.

In 2014, Carnegie Mellon University and Case West-ern Reserve University will compete for the conference’schampionship in football as affiliate members.

The PAC annually crowns champions in 19 sports.All-Conference status is awarded in all 19 sports. Headcoaches select all-league squads for all team sports,while in individual sports such as cross country andtennis, all-PAC accolades are based upon performancesat the conference championships.

The PAC annually awards its men’s and women’sAll-Sports Trophies to the schools which perform bestacross the board in conference competition.

Grove City won the Women’s All-Sports Trophy forthe 2013-14 academic year while Washington &Jefferson earned the Men’s All-Sports Trophy.

In 2013-14, the league named a conference-record902 student-athletes to the PAC Academic Honor Roll,which recognizes all participating student-athletes whoattain a term grade-point average of 3.60 or aboveduring their semester of competition.

The beautifully landscaped cam-pus of Grove City College stretchesover 150 acres and includes 28 neo-Gothic buildings. It is considered oneof the loveliest in the nation.

While the College has changedto meet the needs of the society itserves, its basic philosophy has re-mained unchanged since its found-ing in 1876. It is a Christian, liberalarts institution, dedicated to theprinciple of providing the highestquality education at the lowest pos-sible cost.

Wishing to remain truly inde-pendent and to retain its distinctivequalities as a private school gov-erned by private citizens (trustees),it is one of few colleges in the coun-try that does not accept federalfunds.

Affiliated with the PresbyterianChurch (U.S.A.), but not narrowly de-nominational, the College believesthat to be well-educated a studentshould be exposed to the centralideas of the Judeo-Christian tradi-tion.

Grove City College offers under-graduate degrees in liberal arts, sci-ences, engineering, business, andmusic and is distinguished as a na-tional leader in education.

Grove City’s programs in elec-trical and mechanical engineeringare accredited by the EngineeringAccreditation Commission Board ofthe Accreditation Board for Engi-neering and Technology.

The “big business school cur-riculum” prepares students fortoday’s global business reality. Anextensive variety of internship op-portunities are provided across thecurriculum.

Grove City College wants its stu-dents to be prepared in this age ofmobile information technology.

Each entering freshman receivesa tablet computer which is his or hersto keep upon graduation with afour-year degree.

This is part of the InformationTechnology Initiative, a total pro-gram integrating technology acrossthe curriculum.

The College believes that its stu-dent body has a unique mix of tal-ents and abilities.

Its Career Services programhelps students identify those key as-sets during the first year and thenbuilds a four-year strategy to helpthem pursue a satisfying career.

Personal counseling, profes-sional speakers, databases, alumnicontacts, summer internships, cor-porate visits, employer presentationsand more are incorporated into thecareer preparation experience.

Grove City follows the semestercalendar plan, in addition to offer-ing two-week sessions in Januaryand May.

Most of the 2,500 students livein separate men’s and women’s dor-mitories. The rest are local com-muters or married students.

A full program of cultural, pro-fessional, athletic and social activi-ties is offered, including 19 intercol-legiate varsity athletic teams.

ATHLETIC FACILITIESAll 19 of Grove City College’s intercollegiate

varsity athletic teams utilize the College’s superiorfacilities for competition, practices and off-seasontraining and conditioning.

Grove City’s athletic facilities have undergonenumerous renovations and improvements in re-cent years, with more upgrades scheduled in theimmediate future.

On lower campus, Robert E. Thorn Field is hometo the College’s football and track and field teams.The College installed CSTurf at Robert E. ThornField. CSTurf is a synthetic playing surface thatfeatures polyethylene LSR grass fibers and a rub-ber infill system.

The College also installed lights and resurfacedthe 8-lane track around the field. Grove City alsoreconfigured its setup for track meets during theserenovations.

In 2011, the College installed a new state-of-the-art scoreboard and new bleachers on the visi-tors’ side at Thorn Field.

These upgrades benefit the entire campus com-munity as the complex is used by both the College’sclub sports teams and its intramural program,along with the varsity teams.

The track is also available for use by recre-ational walkers and joggers. The complex also fea-tures 10 all-weather tennis courts next to the sta-dium.

Phillips Field House, located at the north endof the complex, features several locker rooms, anathletic training room, meeting rooms and coaches’offices. It is used by the football, track and tennisprograms throughout the academic year.

The Physical Learning Center (PLC) houses theGrove City College Arena, home to the College’sbasketball and volleyball programs.

In summer 2012, the College renovated theArena by installing new lighting and a new playingfloor. In recent years, the Arena has also receivednew scoreboards and scorers’ tables.

The James E. Longnecker Pool is one of the nation’spremier small-college venues for both swimmingand diving and water polo.

In addition, the PLC features the James E.Longnecker Pool, one of the premier aquatic facili-ties in the region.

Each year, Grove City hosts the Presidents’ Ath-letic Conference Swimming and Diving Champion-ships at the state-of-the-art facility.

In 2012, the College also hosted the CollegiateWater Polo Association Division III Championshipsat the James E. Longnecker Pool.

The PLC also features a second pool, the Rec-reational Pool, which is used by members of theCollege community year-round.

A fitness room featuring aerobic and Cybexequipment and a separate weight room with freeand mechanized weights are also keystone areasof the facility.

The PLC also features six racquetball/handballcourts as well as two adjacent intramural rooms.The intramural rooms feature four basketball courts,four indoor tennis courts, four volleyball courts, anindoor track and two indoor jumping pits.

The College installed new synthetic flooring andseveral new electronic scoreboards throughout theintramural rooms.

The Physical Learning Center houses the ath-letic training room, locker rooms and offices forcoaches and physical education faculty.

The College recently constructed a new officesuite for coaches and athletic administration, whilealso incorporating its Athletic Hall of Fame area.

Grove City’s outdoor athletic facilities have alsoreceived numerous upgrades in recent years.

The varsity soccer field, College Field, was ex-panded and re-sodded during the summer of 2005.College Field also received a new press box dur-ing the summer of 2007.

Meanwhile, Grove City’s baseball and softballfacilities recently received major facelifts as newdugouts, new fencing and electronic scoreboardswere installed on both fields.

The home of Grove City’s football and track andfield teams, Robert E. Thorn Field has receivednumerous renovations in recent years.
