We Welcome you
606 SE First Street, | Little Falls, MN 56345320.616.4959 | [email protected] | www.littlefallsmn.com
Welcome to Little Falls. It is a pleasure to welcome you to our city of old fashion charm and historic mansions, century homes, historic churches and numerous attractions.
We are proud to have the Pine Grove Zoo in our backyard along with Charles A. Lindbergh’s adventures to share with guests; as he lived in Little Falls for his boyhood and we will share many summertime stories from long ago. We would like to have you experience our town as if you lived here yourself, come and enjoy over 18 parks and a long stretch of the Mississippi River Bicycle Route through our community with a magnifi cent view of the rushing water at our Dam on the Mississippi.
Just around the corner we are honored to have Camp Ripley Military Base which has 18 miles of undeveloped river front and breathtaking views. It is home to the Minnesota Military Museum and has a great environmental program for the community and guests to enjoy.
We are on the Mississippi River and we have over 2002 miles of trail for snowmobiles, bicycles, ATV’s and we love the outdoors with multiple campgrounds and opportunities to stay overnight and enjoy a weekend getaway or stay for awhile.
If you love the outdoors and want a touch of history, walk through the Minnesota Fishing Museum and enjoy the view.
We have century homes and historic mansions such as the Rosenmeier and Linden Hill Mansions that are awesome to tour as you will feel like you stepped back in time with the furniture, collections and architectural design.
We are located in Central Minnesota and our neighboring communities offer numerous opportunities as well: • Experience the Swanville Mid Summer Carnival and make memories in Morrison County • Reminisce in Randall and visit the downtown area for a vintage shopping experience • Royalton holds the secret “treasures” to enjoy on your journey • Dine lakeside with great views in Lincoln Lakes • Explore Pierz and check out downtown shopping and “great golfi ng” • Ride the trails as you cruise through Fort Ripley on a recreational vehicle
We celebrate the 11th annual Dam Festival the 3rd weekend in June; as we are home to the Little Falls Dam and its beauty. The community gatheringhas activities for all ages and live bands for those who choose to enjoy the nightlife.
Summer through winter, we have something for everyone on our streets and nestled in our communities.

Created by artist Frank Gosiak, two large colored murals, depicting the logging era and main street Little Falls in the early 1900’s, grace the façade of the Hennepin Paper Co. warehouse on Broadway Avenue West across from Cass Gilbert Depot. A third Gosiak mural “Door Into the Past” depicts the history of Little Falls evolving into present day Little Falls. The mural is located at the intersection of Broadway Avenue East and Second Street NE.
Little Falls is the home of two public fresco paintings, both created by artist Charles Kapsner, installed at Lindbergh Elementary School. The fi rst, completed in 1994, is called “The Stewardship” and
portrays the life, work and values of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., the American aviator, who lived here as a boy. The second is a 19’ x 41’ monument entitled “Beginnings”, which tells the story of Central Minnesota’s history. This piece was completed in May 2001. The frescoes can be viewed by appointment.

Cover story
Without a doubt, the
most famous native of
Little Falls is Charles A.
Lindbergh, an internationally
renowned aviator and
environmentalist. As the
Mississippi built its strength
from the streams of central
Minnesota, so too were
Lindbergh’s own beginnings
shaped by his experiences in
Little Falls.
In 1931, the Lindbergh family gave the entire 110 acres and summer house to the State of Minnesota in recognition of the elder Charles A. Lindbergh’s life and accomplishments. In 1969, the house and 17 adjacent acres were placed under the management of the Minnesota Historical Society to preserve and interpret the Lindbergh story. Today, visitors can see the 1906 house with original artifacts throughout and see Charles A. Lindbergh’s evolution from an ordinary boy to environmentalist.
Charles Lindbergh’s 1927 fl ight from New York to Paris launched an aviation revolution and making Lindbergh one of the most famous American’s in the 20th Century. Charles A. Lindbergh’s childhood experiences shaped the lasting legacy he would create through his work in the 20th century. The Charles A. Lindbergh Historic Site is a National Historic Landmark featuring the fully furnished boy-hood home of the famous aviator, visitor center exhibits, including a “Spirit of St. Louis” fl ight simulator, and an interpretive trail along the river.

tradition. Located at 208 West Broadway, 320.632.8243.
Sacred Heart Chapel• Sacred Heart Chapel, located within St. Francis Convent, was built in 1943.
A Romanesque infl uence can be seen in its pillars, rounded arches and the
symbolism of the stained glass windows. The architecture, with its miniature
angled tower and raftered ceilings, was infl uenced by the style of mission
chapels erected by a pioneer Franciscan priest in Mexico and California.
