City of Cleveland 2014 Summer Rain Barrel Program Program Information Sheet What is the Summer Rain Barrel Program? The Summer Rain Barrel Program is a collaborative program designed to provide City of Cleveland residents with rain barrel systems free of charge. In an effort to reduce stormwater runoff, help residents save money and engage Cleveland youth, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), the Mayor’s Youth Summer Employment Program (YSEP), local Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) to employ City of Cleveland high school students to assemble and distribute the rain barrels to City residents. Who is eligible to participate in the program? The Summer Rain Barrel Program is open to all homeowners in the City of Cleveland. Residents may be required to show proof of ownership in order to participate in the program. What is required to participate in the program? Residents interested in participating in the 2014 Summer Rain Barrel Program must: Be a homeowner in the City of Cleveland Complete the required paperwork by July 1 st , 2014 Have a 2”x3” rectangular downspout on their home or garage that i s not visible from the street, and drains to sewer (not over driveway, sidewalk, etc) Install the free downspout diverter by the time the rain barrel is delivered. (Note: The City of Cleveland is NOT responsible for diverter installation.) How do I sign up for the Summer Rain Barrel Program? Registration for the 2014 Summer Rain Barrel Program is administered by local Community Development Corporations (CDCs). What is the Summer Rain Barrel Program?

The Summer Rain Barrel Program is a collaborative program designed to provide City

of Cleveland residents with rain barrel systems free of charge. In an effort to reduce

stormwater runoff, help residents save money and engage Cleveland youth, the
