Dear ASD Families,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!Whether you have been a part of the community for 15 years or are joining us for the first time, welcome to the American School of Dubai! The Ready. Set. Go. Guide is designed to support the successful start of your school year. ASD is a school that encourages parents and students to be engaged in support of their school. As you become familiar with ASD, you will note there are many, many ways to do so: Attend student athletic competitions and enjoy student performances. Volunteer with one of our parent involvement groups. Engage with ASD’s social media (#ASDubai, @ASDubaiNews), read the weekly (email) ASD News. Spend time at the Falcon’s Nest and attend the many community-school events so generously organized by parent volunteers. Stay in the know by reading school publications. I encourage you to know your school and get involved! For nearly fifty years ASD has been making a difference in the lives of students. Now over 8,000 alumni are living, working and making a difference in their communities all over the world. In whatever ways you choose to participate in the life of ASD, your support is appreciated and has lasting impact. And remember, Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon. Wishing you a successful 2015-2016 school year. Please let us know how we can make a difference to you and your family.

From The SuperintendentDear ASD Parents and Students,It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to extend you a warm welcome to what we anticipate to be another phenomenal year of learning at ASD.Our mission of challenging and inspiring each student to achieve their dreams and to become a passionate learner prepared to adapt and contribute in a rapidly changing world is both aspirational and inspirational and continues to demand that we bring our very best work together as a community each and every day. Compassion, excellence, integrity, respect and responsibility are not simply five words that can be found on the walls across the campus. These Core Values continue to guide our interaction in a manner that will again transcend the multitude of different nationalities represented among our student body, faculty and staff at ASD. The ASD Core Values must serve to guide our actions, decision-making and the sustained quality of interaction we will enjoy with one another throughout the 2015-2016 school year.
I look forward to welcoming you on Sunday, August 23 as you prepare for the successful start of the school year and first day of learning, Monday, August 24.
Sincerely,
Brent MutschSuperintendent

School UniformsASD students wear a uniform to reflect ASD’s core values of respect, responsibility and excellence. The ASD uniform is designed to respect our host country’s culture and reflect high expectations for student excellence. Full details on uniforms and dress code policy are available in division student handbooks. Student uniforms are not available for purchase at ASD, but through the two official uniform vendors, Zaks and Lands’ End.
ZaksLocated in Al Barsha, Zaks offers the full range of uniform inventory and special uniform services including: made to measure garments and two year alteration services (no additional cost), name tags, a loyalty club, personal shopping assistance and delivery. Hours 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Friday closed). Call 800 ZAKS.
Lands’ End Lands’ End is an online uniform retailer based in the United States. Lands’ End offers ASD uniform pieces and ordering is through the ASD preferred school number #900146523.
