Fairfield University appreciates the cooperation and courtesy shown by students, employees, and visitors who observe established parking and traffic regulations. All persons operating a motor vehicle on campus roads should recognize that Fairfield University is a pedestrian community and that pedestrians do have the right of way.
All vehicles entering campus must be registered with the Department of Public Safety Parking Office. Traffic regulations and vehicle registration policies can be found on our website at www.fairfield.edu/parking. Instructions for registering vehicles can be found in my.Fairfield.
Please note that all parking regulations are in effect 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Student vehicles may only be parked in lots designated by sticker type. Please consult our website for a detailed description of our parking policies and procedures.
Chronic parking/traffic offenders who accumulate five (5) violations for being unregistered will be subject to having their vehicles immobilized. Those registered chronic offenders who receive five (5) violations may be subject to modified parking regulations. A $60 surcharge will also be added to the regularly published fine schedule and the vehicle will be towed from locations not assigned to that vehicle. Payment of tickets does not remove the owner/operator from the tow list. Individuals will not be pre-warned when placed on the tow list. Tickets for “unauthorized by permit” are NOT appealable.
Motor vehicles may not be parked or driven on University property without current or valid registration plates; be operated in excess of 20 mph; be left anywhere on University property in a state of disassembly, disabled, or inoperative for any reason.
Vehicles without license plates, or showing other signs of abandonment, will be removed from the property and disposed of under the direction of the Department of Public Safety. Any extra expense incurred by Fairfield University in removing the vehicle will be chargeable to its owner.
Mopeds and motorcycles must adhere to University regulations as pertains to motor vehicle registration, operation, and parking, and may not be secured to trees, railings, posts, etc. (Violators will be ticketed and the vehicle impounded.)
Fraudulent registration, misrepresentation of University affiliation, and the display of stolen or misbegotten, altered, or counterfeit stickers constitute grounds for disciplinary action, towing, and/or immobilization.
All students and employees are reminded that through a commitment to the town of Fairfield, no members of the University community may park on neighboring streets.
