The CRC assists the Board in the review and investigation of complaints by summarizingcomplaint allegations and reviewing the surveyor’s response; providing technical review andevaluation of the facts as they relate to the law, rules or regulations; and to makerecommendations to the Board for further action. By signing an ALTA/ACSM survey for Field Surveying Company, Inc., suggests that he isan employee of that firm, and as such, demonstrated a willful departure fromaccepted standards of professional conduct and the standards established by law§23-5-2.20

Continuing Education Audit Report – Mr. Hornish reported that the 2015 required random audit wascompleted on November 7, 2014 and recommended that P.S. #1065, #1552, and #1861 carry-over hoursbe reduced for claiming continuing education courses that did not appear to be reasonably related tothe practice of land surveying. Mr. Shepp made a motion, seconded by Mr. Douglass to approve Mr.Hornish’s audit recommendation. Motion carried.

Purchasing Card Audit – Mr. Jarrell reported that the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office had completedan audit of the Board’s purchasing card (P-Card) transactions during the period July 1, 2012 throughMarch 31, 2014 with no significant findings.

Fiscal Year 2014 Annual Report – Mr. Shepp made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hornish to approve theFiscal Year 2014 Annual Report as prepared by the Board Administrator. Motion carried.
