Cost includes lunch, snack and materials for Day Camp. All meals and materials are included for cost of Resident Camp. Cost will also include badges, if specified in program description. Leadership camps vary in price. See next page. *July 3: check-out time will be 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Transportation for GP Day Camp: For $65 per week, take the bus from Newark, Middletown or Cecilton to Grove Point. Newark: pick up 7:30 a.m., drop off 5:55 p.m. • Middletown: pick up 8 a.m., drop off 5:15 p.m. • Cecilton: pick up 8:25 a.m., drop off 5 p.m. (Exact pick up and drop off locations will be in confirmation packet.)

Weekly Camp Themes

Summer camp is a place to grow, learn and have fun! This year, kayak on the Sassafras River, explore the woods and make new friends at Day and Resident Camp at Camp Grove Point. We’re offering seven fun themes—including the ever popular Hogwarts week with Fairy Friends twist. You’ll have time to swim and hang out with friends too. At Camp Country Center, dive into STEM for three weeks—culinary creations, digital media and science. There will be plenty of time for outdoor activities too. This pamphlet includes our Summer Camp “basics,” which gives a general overview of each of our Summer Camp offerings, plus our volunteer-run summer camp. June 21-26 • Camp Grove Point’s Got TalentYou and your new-found friends will dive into music, art, drama and dance for a fun way to explore your talent. By the end of the week, your group will have a small skit, song, show or artwork to present to everyone in our closing ceremony.

June 28-July 3 • SplashdownSpend your days making waves in the pool and playing water games. Improve your waterfront skills by going down the slip-and-slide or having a blast at the pool party! Come balance on our fun stand-up paddle boards and improve your swimming ability. All activities are weather permitting.

July 5-10 • Hogwarts, Fairy Friends and moreJoin other “Muggles” at Camp Hogwarts’ welcome and sorting ceremony. Attend Potions and Transfiguration classes, as well as classes in Care of Magical Creatures and Defense Against The Dark Arts classes as well. Explore Hogwarts’ trails and learn to identify edible versus poisonous plants in Herbology.

1051 Sharpless Rd., Hockessin, DE 19707 3 weeks of STEM Day Camp offered June 29 - July 31 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. • $225 per week June 29 –July 3 • Top Chef—Culinary Science • Entering grades 1–8Spend a week learning how to make tasty and nutritious snacks, meals and desserts. Compare different cooking technologies including cooking with fire and cooking with magnets. Learn the chemistry of cooking and why some ingredients are needed in recipes. Girls entering grade 1 will earn a cooking fun patch. Girls entering grades 2–3 will earn the Snack badge. Girls entering grades 4–5 will earn the Simple Meals badge. Girls entering grades 6–8 will earn the New Cuisines badge.

July 13–17 • Picture Perfect—Digital Media • Entering grades 4–8Learn how to create images that tell a story. Use computer software to edit digital images. Younger girls will create a digital photo slide show or collage and older girls will create a short video. Campers may bring their own digital camera (must have a USB connection or SD card) or may borrow one from the camp program. Girls entering grades 4–5 will earn the Digital Photographer badge. Girls entering grades 6–8 will earn the Digital Movie Maker badge.

July 27–31 • Science Sleuth • Entering grades 4–8We will perform experiments and use scientific tools to help us understand life processes and how science and technology can help solve problems. Girls entering grades 4–5 will earn the Detective badge. Girls entering grades 6–8 will earn the Special Agent badge.

July 13–17, July 27–31 • Girls in Gear • Entering grades 2–8Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay is in its seventh year of partnership with Girls Inc. and YWCA Delaware. Girls will explore chemical reactions, chromatography experiments, careers in science, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).

Leadership DevelopmentProgram Aide Training June 21–26 • Entering grades 7–9 • $315 per weekThis program will help you develop skills in several areas; ages and stages, asset building, behavior and risk management, activity facilitation, outdoor skills, and group leadership. Successfully complete this program and you will earn the Program Aide Pin and be eligible to register as a Program Aide. (Completion of the week does not guarantee eligibility to register as a Program Aide.)

Counselor in Training IJuly 5–17 • Entering grades 10–12 • $315 per weekCounselor in Training I (CITI) is a balance of valuable leadership and program skills and fun summer activities. Learn about youth development, behavior management, activity leading, outdoor skills, group leadership and risk management. Successfully complete this program and you will earn your Counselor in Training Pin. Note: Participants must go home during session breaks as this is a two week program.

Counselor in Training IIJuly 19–24 • Entering grades 11–12 • $315 per weekThis program further develops skills learned in CIT I, specializing in one or more areas such as aquatics, program leadership as well as planning. Review CIT I and practice those teaching skills, then specialize in specific areas. Prerequisite: Must have received CIT I Pin. Program Aide June 28–July 3, July 5–10 and July 12–17 • Entering grades 7-9 • $215 per weekBring your skills in song leadership, team building, sports and group facilitation, nature and crafts facilitation, conflict resolution and risk management to camp. Program Aides will provide at least 30 hours of service over the course of the week. Prerequisite: Must have attended Grove Point for at least one week and received Program Aide recognition. Space is limited.

CIT Program AssistantJuly 19-24, July 26-31 and August 2-7 • Entering grades 10-12 • $215 per weekBring your skills in song leadership, team building, sports and group facilitation, arts and crafts facilitation, conflict resolution and risk management to camp. Volunteers will provide at least 30 hours of service over the course of this camp. Prerequisite: Must have received CIT I recognition and have attended Grove Point for at least one week. July 12-17 • Crazy Creatures and CraftsDiscover creatures and plants that are unique to Grove Point. Learn how our environment at Grove Point supports the animals who live and thrive here—including the humans! We will also create some crafty items and gifts using these items.

July 19-24 • Rockin’ and Raftin’Spend a week with us exploring the history of rock and pop music. Present a fun skit to the group using some “oldies but goodies.” You will also have time for the water slide, paddle boards and the pool in an exciting week of water games. 

July 26-31 • Top ChefSpend a week making amazing meals and desserts. You and your friends will put your new cooking skills to the test as you create desserts to share with each other. Learn about cooking outdoors, food safety, basic culinary awareness and more.

August 2-7 • Sunset on the Sassafras Sunset on the Sassafras will allow you to celebrate a great summer camp season with us at Grove Point. You will participate in all the activities summer camp has to offer; improve outdoor skills like fire building, nature art projects, swimming and boating. Spend the week enjoying the friends you have made and using the skills you have gained.
