She dis- played both powerful at- tacks and an aggressive defense that motivated girls on our team and throughout our communi- ty to attempt to recreate the skills and competitive spirit that she modeled.” Chadick, who played the sport in school or at the club level for 10 years, said seeing the sport grow in the area was the high- light of her volleyball ca- reer. “Playing at all the area schools was really neat. Volleyball is really pick- ing up in Louisiana,” said Chadick, who posted 165 kills, 67 aces and 208 digs on the season for the Lady Vikings. As part of her senior project at Airline, Chad- ick worked with her men- tor on physical therapy, something she’d like to pursue as a career, learn- ing to properly tape an athlete’s ankle. “I learned that if you don’t cut the tape in strips, you can cut off their cir- culation when you apply it,” she said. Chadick, who attends First Baptist Church of Bossier City, also partici- pates in drama club as a Lady Viking and has been in the school’s talented arts program. She choreo- graphed some dance num- bers for a school program. Playing travel volley- ball with her Northwestern Louisiana club team helped her expand her friendship with folks like Emiline Hoskins, a former Haughton player who is now a freshman at BPCC. Chadick isn’t sure what the future holds for her volleyball career. “I do miss it already. If I go to Louisiana Tech, I plan to try to play there, but if I go to LSUS, I’ll just play in- tramural,” she said. .
