Common Read

• A Long Way Gone was selected as our 2015 Common Read.

• All incoming freshmen will receive a copy of the book during orientation.

• We ask they read it prior to returning to campus for start of Fall semester.

• Story of Civil War in Sierra Leone during 1990s.

• First person perspective of boy soldier during war and rehab after the war

• Coming of age story about family, identity, trust, survival, violence, social justice, morality, and hope.
