LAST TIME OUT: Marist ended the 2016 regular season tying its season high in goals during a 14-3 victory at Detroit on April 30. The victory helped the Red Foxes earn the no. 2 seed heading into the MAAC Tournament. Eight different Red Foxes scored in the game and five hit the back of the net multiple times. Redshirt sophomore Brian Corrigan made 16 saves in between the pipes, picked up three ground balls and posted a career-high three caused turnovers. Marist outshot the Titans, 41-35.

REGULAR SEASON MATCHUP: The Red Foxes and Hawks met in the 2016 MAAC regular season opener for both sides on March 19. The contest featured six ties before senior Joseph Radin fed junior J.D. Recor for the game-winner with 2:36 to play. Corrigan made a save on a shot from Monmouth junior Chris Daly as time expired to preserve the 9-8 Marist victory in West Long Branch.

MAAC TOURNAMENT REMATCH: Thursday’s game between Marist and Monmouth will mark the second straight year both teams have met in the MAAC semifinal. Marist picked up an 11-6 win in the 2015 tournament semifinal April 30 in Tenney Stadium. Radin scored three of his four goals in the first half and Marist went on a 6-1 run highlighted by two power play goals from then freshman Gannon Morrison... The Red Foxes lead the all-time series against Monmouth 4-0.

CLOSE CALLS: 11 of the 14 games Marist has played so far this season have been decided by three goals or fewer... The six overtime contests the Red Foxes have played in during 2016 are the most in a single season in program history. The Red Foxes are 3-4 in one-goal games this season, including 2-4 in overtime, with the wins coming at Michigan (March 23) and no. 8 Stony Brook (April 12) in extra time.

GOING STREAKING: Radin has netted a goal in his last 30 games, a streak that is third longest in the nation... He has 21 hat tricks over that span and 98 goals overall... Radin’s scoring streak began when Marist played Stony Brook on March 4 in the 2015 home opener.

POINT STREAKS: Recor joins Radin on the national list of point streaks of more than 20 games. Recor has notched either a goal, assist, or both in 27 straight games dating back to last season... Recor’s point streak began when Marist hosted Monmouth during the 2015 regular season on March 14... Recor has racked up 50 points this season and leads the MAAC averaging 3.85 points per game.

RADIN’S HONORS: Radin was one of 50 Division I men’s lacrosse players to be named to the first Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Feb. 23. He is Marist’s second player in program history to be on the list and first on the initial list.... Radin is also one of 10 finalists for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award... On January 22, he became the first Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft choice in Marist Lacrosse history when he was selected in the sixth round, 45th overall, by the Charlotte Hounds.

LEADING SCORER: Radin’s 160 career goals make him Marist’s all-time leader. He broke the old record of 145 set by Paul Donohue in 2002. Donohue is the brother of current Marist College Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Admin-istrator Elizabeth Donohue... Radin is second in scoring among active players and is fifth in the nation in goals per game averaging 3.21. Radin’s 205 career points put him tied for fifth place among active players.

WALL IN NET: Corrigan is second in the nation in save percentage (.600) and sixth in saves per game (12.00)... A three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, Corrigan leads the conference in save percentage and is second in saves per game.

MAN UP: Marist is 16-for-25 on man up opportunities this season, which is the highest conversion percentage in the nation (.640)... The Red Foxes’ opponents are being held to a mark of 16-for-51 (.314)... Radin has scored 10 individual man up goals for second place in the country... In 2015, Marist finished with the sixth highest single-season man up conversion rate in the history of Division I NCAA Men’s Lacrosse at 56 percent (28-for-50).

MARATHON SEASON OPENER: The Red Foxes began the 2016 season with the longest game in program history, a 7-6 lossto Air Force in Tenney Stadium that lasted four overtimes and went two hours and 17 minutes... The contest is still tied for the longest by period in NCAA men’s lacrosse this season.

LOOKING AHEAD: The MAAC Tournament final is slated for 12 p.m. May 7 in Hamden, Connecticut and will feature the winner of this game and the earlier semfinal between no. 4 Canisius and MAAC regular season champion Quinnipiac. The 2016 MAAC Tournament winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Keegan Wilkinson was named head coach of the Marist men’s lacrosse program on June 28, 2011. He had spent the four previous years as the Red Foxes’ assistant coach. Wilkinson led the Red Foxes to their winningest season in program history and was named MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 when Marist ended its season ranked 20th in the nation. Marist made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005 and hosted the first playoff contest in the college’s history when the Red Foxes defeated Bryant, 10-6, in a First Four game in front of a record crowd of 1,873 fans in Tenney Stadium. The win was the first NCAA Tournament victory in

program history. In Wilkinson’s third season as head coach in 2014, he led his Red Foxes to a 6-9 overall record with a 3-3 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference en route to Marist’s first MAAC Championship game appearance since 2005. The Red Foxes earned the no. 2 seed following a five-way tie for second place, making their fifth straight MAAC Tournament appearance. Before becoming the head coach, Wilkinson had spent the past four seasons as the program’s top assistant, helping guide the Red Foxes to the MAAC Lacrosse League Tournament each of the last two years. During Wilkinson’s tenure as an assistant coach, the Red Foxes improved their MAAC record each season. In that time, Marist posted a record of 16-14 in league play. The Red Foxes also had 13 First or Second Team All-MAAC selections, 40 MAAC All-Academic Team selections and one MAAC Rookie of the Year during his tenure. In 2011, Marist had three First Team All-MAAC selections, its highest total in seven years. Wilkinson is a 2006 graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, where he was a four-year starter at attack and a two-year captain. He led Saint Joseph’s in assists and points three times in his career and finished his collegiate career with 54 goals and 83 assists. He is ranked second on the school’s all-time assists list and seventh in career points (137).

EC34In August 2011 the Marist College community unexpectedly lost men’s lacrosse midfielder Edward Coombs prior to his sophomore year. Coombs lost his life in a car accident near his hometown of Horsham Township, PA. Each member of the Marist men’s lacrosse team wears a patch of a black circle with the white initials EC on their jersey to honor his life. The Red Foxes started a new tradition in 2015, choosing a different senior at the beginning of each season to wear Coombs’ no. 34. Former Marist goalie Dave Scarcello was the inaugural recipient of this honor followed by attack Joseph Radin for the 2016 season. Eddie was a well-respected member of the Marist community by staff and students.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achieve-ments in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and com-petition. ALUM IN MLLFormer Marist midfielder Mike Begley ‘15 became the men’s lacrosse program’s first alumnus to be on a 25-man Major League Lacrosse roster when he made the cut in training camp with the Boston Cannons. Begley scored two goals in his pro debut against the Charlotte Hounds on April 23.
