My primary function was the Information Management Officer (IMO) for the USMC MAP Project. I was tasked to work as a liaison with the local base 228th / 160th Signal Command for maintenance of all local computers, networking processes, and IT based procedures. I implement and maintain information security policies and procedures in accordance with USMC, US Army, DISA, and DOD requirements and standards. Assist network administrators with troubleshooting of NIPRNET, SIPRNET, EMAIL, AND GCSS user accounts issues when they occur. When maintaining hardware and software based systems I re-image and provision all new and used hardware whenever deficiencies and new operating systems are required. This process utilizes all US ARMY provided software and hardware images and may require extensive computer troubleshooting and configuration knowledge from the higher level information management officers. At that point I will create, manage, update, and close out tickets within the Remedy ticket tracking system for higher level IT support when needed.

Additionally, I Install, remove, modify, upgrade, and configure office and business, utilities and maintenance, security, and network software to suit and/or pursue user's needs and/or Department of Defense mission requirements. I also Install, remove, modify, upgrade, and configure office and business, utilities and maintenance, security, and network hardware to suit and/or correct user's needs and/or Department of Defense mission requirements. When needed I coordinate the scanning of NIPRNET and SIPRNET computers as required for all security vulnerabilities when needed and apply all current security patches when made available based on current trends within the cyber community and in the defense of military network systems.

I provide end user level support and when needed train, brief, monitor, and provide technical support to all USMC MAP HTSI personnel and primary customer users when needed. This includes but is not limited to the operation and use of all Windows based software applications such as MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, SharePoint, and other vendor applications as requested. I perform other related duties as assigned by the government and the program
