Barbara Bush ~ As former First Lady, she called working for a more liter- ate America the "most important issue we have." Involved with many organizations devoted to this cause, she became Honorary Chairman of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. A strong advocate of volunteerism, Mrs. Bush helped many causes--including the homeless, AIDS, the elderly, and school volunteer programs. She is also the mother of the 43rd President, George W. Bush, and of Florida's 43rd Governor, Jeb Bush. Doreen Bilezikian ~ Notable businesswoman and founder of the Christmas Tree Shops, currently Doreen serves as President of the Bilezikian Family Foundation, has served on the Cape Cod Museum of Art Board of Directors, on the Executive Committee and as Clerk on the Board for the Kelley Foundation. Instrumental in the development of the first and original Cape Cod Economic Development Commission, she served as its Chair and also served on the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. Her involvement with local non-prof- it organizations spans across to healthcare and the arts with her prior support on the Cape Cod Healthcare Board as well as the Board of the Cape Cod Conservatory. Loretta LaRoche ~ Acclaimed speaker, author and international stress management and humor consultant has evoked wit and irreverent hu- mor on her audiences for over 30 years. She is on the Mass General ad- visory council for anxiety and depression and is founder and president of The Humor Potential, Inc, a company offering programs and products for life style management. Pine duBois ~ Environmental advocate, Rita is the executive director of the Jones River Landing Environmental Heritage Center and was recog- nized for her environmental activism and her work helping women who are victims of domestic violence. Donna Green ~ Well-known artist and illustrator of children’s books, most notably, The Velveteen Rabbit with 11 million books in print. Rec- ognized for creating the Magic Moon Foundation, a nonprofit charity organization that helps children who have cancer by opening her home to them. Paula Harris ~ As WH Cornerstone’s co-founder, Paula is part financial therapist and part dream architect engineering financial peace of mind and independence. She serves on the board of several area organiza- tions Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra (Past President), past Chairman of the Board for the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, and an elect-

ed Trustee for the Duxbury Free Library. Paula has shared her talents as an active participant in Duxbury Town Committees (Open Space, Eco-nomic Advisory, Chief of Police Citizens Screening). Also a member of the Community Garden Club of Duxbury, Holy Family Parish Council and  Women’s Club where she is a Lector and greeter, Plymouth and Norfolk Estate Planning Council and the Plymouth Yacht Club. !Emily Zoltowski ~ Has spent her lifetime making sure children and others with disabilities have access to public buildings, churches, etc. Her work spans decades and she was instrumental supporting and interpreting legislation that granted accessibility to all. !Helen Philbrick ~ The “dame of Duxbury” taught caning at the Senior Center until her late 90’s. Generously entrusting land to the Wildland’s Trust, she also released a book in 2006. !Marianne Leone Cooper ~ Actress and mother whose son Jesse Cooper, was an honor-roll student who had severe cerebral palsy and was quad-riplegic, unable to speak, and wracked by seizures and died suddenly at age seventeen. Marianne’s unforgettable memoir of joy, grief, and tri-umph, “Knowing Jesse” unlocks the secret of unconditional love and speaks to all families who strive to do right by their children. Marianne co-founded the Jesse Cooper Foundation, which supports a yearly scholarship plus the AccesSportAmerica, an organization with a unique purpose to bring the wild world of extreme sports to challenged kids. !Phyllis P Godwin ~ Owner of Granite City Electric, a $100M electric sup-ply company that was founded by her father in the early part of the 1900's. At a time when women were not expected to take over the family business, Mrs. Godwin's husband took over the business when her father died. Upon their divorce, as a single mother, she took back the business and expanded it beyond anyone's expectations. She's been a leader in the business community and an inspiration to women in business ever since. !Elizabeth Nightingale ~ Elizabeth and her husband Jerry (a high school classmate) are the parents of two children, the older of whom has multi-ple medical and physical challenges. Elizabeth has worked tirelessly to see that he, and other medically fragile children, receive the same edu-cational and social opportunities as any other child. Elizabeth is also one of the busiest volunteers in town. !!

Anne M Antonellis ~ Involved in many aspects of Duxbury, she is the owner of Duxbury Mortgage Services located in Hall’s Corner, and her involvement goes far beyond her career.  She is the president of the Duxbury Business Association, a member of the Economic Advisory Committee, board of directors of the Council on Aging, the board of directors for the Alden House, and a member of the South Shore Chamber Women’s Business Connection. !Therese Murray ~ Senate President in 2007 Therese became the only woman to lead a legislative body in Massachusetts. She has since start-ed Mass-Ignite, a private outfit geared toward drawing international in-vestment into the state’s emerging economic sectors, including health care technology, big data, and marine technology. !Joanne O. Moore ~ Considers it an opportunity to work with the seniors of Duxbury to implement programs and services that meet their needs. She’s implemented a supportive day program for people with Alzheimer’s disease, and a lifelong learning program where members of the community share their talents and professional experience. As a result of her tireless dedication, Duxbury has been named one of five national Aging Mastery sites. !Janet Laberge ~ Janet served in the National Guard and has advocated for adults affected by severe mental health problems for the Common-wealth of Massachusetts for twenty years. Owner, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, she pays it forward through Good Deeds Thrift which do-nates to local charities monthly. She has serves on the board for the Dianne Devanna Center in Braintree which serves families experiencing hardship. She has also served on the South Shore Women’s Business Network and the Pembroke Chamber of Commerce. !Alba Thompson ~ A first generation American, History teacher and first local woman accepted into the US Army Officer Candidate School, she served five years each in the US Army and US Air Force, was a civil af-fairs officer in Japan and Korea. She was Plymouth’s first woman Se-lectman. Pamela Campbell Smith ~ Architect, marathoner and mother, Pamela has been tireless with her involvement with the South Shore Conserva-tory, Duxbury Council on Aging, Duxbury Education Foundation, Duxbury Music Festival, Duxbury War Memorial Restoration Committee, Community Garden Club, and the 375th Anniversary Committee. !!

Rev. Catherine Cullen ~ Former litigator and first Chief of Legal Bureau of Child Support Enforcement Catherine was ordained as a Unitarian-Uni-versalist in 2002 becoming the first woman minister at the First Parish Church in Duxbury. She has chaired the Interfaith Council and is a Trustee of the Unitarian Universalist Association in Massachusetts. !Olga Rothschild ~ Local artist, Olga is a Rug Hook extraordinaire her art has been featured at the Art Complex Museum, she galvanized and led the rug hook group at Alden Barn. Her artwork and mission has been to showcase this timeless art form and skill, and she generously donates her time and handicraft. !Rita T LaPointe ~ Trained as a nurse and social worker, Rita worked in her early years in a Boston Hospital. Rita founded St. Roques’ Dog Grooming business in Plympton, Massachusetts, which is aptly named after the pa-tron saint of dogs. Rita has advocated on behalf of dogs at the New Eng-land Brittney Rescue League and worked for over 50 years with the 4H Clubs. !Connie Braceland ~ AVP of Business Development for Watertown Sav-ings Bank, Connie has served on the boards of: Waltham Chamber of Commerce, Waltham Partnership for Youth, Friends of Waltham Senior Citizens, the Waltham Chamber, Waltham Boys and Girls clubs, and the Greater Waltham Association for Retarded Citizens. She is involved in the Rotary Club, and is a Paul Harris Fellow Award recipient. She donates her time to serve holiday meals to seniors, and is involved in the Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society. !Razia Jan ~ Born in Afghanistan, Razia moved to the United States in 1970. The proprietor of a small tailoring business in Duxbury, Mass-achusetts, for 20 years, she served as president of the town’s Rotary Club. A member of the Interfaith Council, No Place for Hate, and the Board of Directors at Jordan Hospital, Razia has received many awards for her humanitarian work, including the 2007 Woman of Excellence award from Germaine Lawrence Inc., multiple Rotary Club International Peace Awards, and certificates of appreciation from the Army Corps of Engi-neers and the American Legion. In 2008, Razia moved back to Kabul, where she develops and manages aid projects for Afghan rug weavers as the Country Program Director for the Chicago-based nonprofit Arzu Inc., in addition to her work with Razia’s Ray of Hope. In 2012, Razia was named on of the Top 10 CNN Heroes of the year. She continues to tire-lessly devote her skills and energy to improving the lives of girls and women in Afghanistan. !

Carol Jankowski ~ Director of the Duxbury Free Library, Carol has en-hanced community outreach and implemented accessible programs. Connecting the DPL with Duxbury Schools, Student Union, Senior Center, The Art Complex, Scouts, Lions clubs, she’s also spearheaded forums in-cluding “Meet the Author” amongst others. Prior to DPL, Carol worked with seniors, and was pivotal in developing Senior Respite Care pro-grams with the Braintree Council on Aging. !Cynthia Krusell ~ Marshfield’s town Historian, she has been instrumental in the preservation of the historic Winslow House, a longtime member she has also served as the president of the board. She was on of the founding members of the Marshfield Historical Commission and partici-pated in the Pilgrim Society. She established Historical Research As-sociates, specializing in histories of old homes. She co-authored “Marsh-field: A Town of Villages”, and has several other historical titles. !Holly Safford ~ Founder of premier catering company, The Catered Affair and owner of The Windsor House Inn, she is reviving culinary arts in Duxbury. Serving on the Boards of the American Institute of Wine & Food, The Women’s Culinary Guild, Massachusetts Restaurant Associa-tion, she has also been a ten year member of the Thayer Academy Board of Trustees, and is an Overseer of The Handel and Haydn Society and the Duxbury Yacht Club. !Judi Vose ~ Activist and messenger, serving on the Council for African Wildlife Association, the New England Hemophilia Society, she has chaired Sustainable Duxbury and has consulted on the Outdoor Nature Center behind the newly constructed Duxbury High School. She has served as Executive Secretary for the Eddy Family Association and is cur-rently a member of their Board of Directors. She authored a monthly en-vironmental column, ‘Helping Mother Earth’ which featured people and businesses making a difference for the environment and protecting na-ture.
