Order’s top 10 in charitable giving.

• Our $3.63 million dollars of total donations for charity.• Our 1.5 million hours of volunteered service, which includes 771,017 hours for our parishes, 365,115 hours for our communities, and 216,973 for youth programs.• Our 12,792 blood donors. • Our 152,229 visits to the sick and bereaved. • Our $591,285 donated for service for our developmentally disabled.

• Our $306,764 donated for Culture of Life projects, that includes $84,204 for Ultra Sound machines.• Our $1.4 million donated to our parishes and Catholic schools, which includes $158,746 for religious education, $178,005 for seminarians and RSVP, and $193,180 for vocation projects.• Our $578,492 donated for various youth disbursements, which includes $261,676 for scholarships and education.

1. CHURCH DRIVE Hold a Church Drive during March at your local parishes. Start planning your Church Drive now! Get your volunteers to help at the doors.




2. Encourage your members to recruit their family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Make sure they explain all the good works and our donations to charity (proceeds from charity raffle!)




3. Recruit a: a. former member,

another state living in Ohio!

Ohio Catholic Social ServicesEndowed Pooled Trust

Medicaid and SSI benefits are restrictive: Allow little income and < $1,500 in personal assets.

Medicaid also restricts what benefits can be used for.

Due to recent national law changes, non-profit pooled trusts allow greatly expanded benefits without reducing assets.



Monies placed in a Charitable Endowed Pooled Trust allow disabled persons (most elderly) to continue to receive government benefits and use their pooled trust monies for many enjoyable personal expenses:

1. Training courses and Club memberships2. Computers, cameras, cable TV, Internet, all electronics3. Travel and vacations. Tickets to concerts & sports events4. Private rooms, personal care, massages.

The Grand Knight and the “Big Daddy” or Chairman are responsible for the Super Cash Bonanza Raffle.



Mail “Million Dollar Baby” Campaign

A letter from the Grand Knight and the “Big Daddy” Chairman accompanies at least 5 tickets sent to each member.



Personal Delivery Mission

The Council ticket distribution is controlled by Team Captains. The Captains may be assigned a list of members to hand deliver tickets. The Captain may also be responsible to collect tickets and monitor sales from the members on his list.



The Million Dollar Follow Up

Whether your council uses a mail campaign or personal delivery, there must be frequent and organized follow-ups by mail, phone, e-mail, or council newsletter to make sure the tickets are being sold and not sitting idle.

“Partnering” If your council needs a boost in sales,

consider “partnering” with a local organization or church group to sell tickets through their contacts.



Example of Partnering Holy Family Parma Council 15056 “Partnered”

with the Parish School’s PTU and the Altar and Rosary Society. They agreed to share $2.00 of the basic rebate from each ticket to the group. The Parish School PTU sold 550 and the Altar and Rosary Society sold 130 of the Council’s 900 tickets.

75% of the tickets were sold by someone other than the council members. The council received the maximum of rebate allowed and did an amazing 16 tickets per member.
