A note from the ChairmanAs part of the gap personnel group’s ongoing investment in the local community, the company took over the running of Connah’s Quay Nomads Football Club in 2008.

The club was founded in 1946 and is an integral part of the Deeside community. The Club currently runs 13 Academy teams, ranging from the U-8 to U-19 sides. Our revolutionary scholarship scheme in partnership with Coleg Cambria has now has two teams, both of whom won their respective leagues in 2016, and finally the first team, led by former Manchester City captain, Andy Morrison.

The Club play their home games at Deeside Stadium, renting the facility from Coleg Cambria’s Deeside campus.

In 2012, the first team won the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance and were promoted to the top tier of football in Wales - the Welsh Premier League. The Nomads have remained in the league for the past four seasons and the 2015-16 season saw the most successful season in the Club’s history, finishing a record fourth in the Welsh Premier League, and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

Each week, all of the first team’s games are broadcast on Sky TV through S4C’s Sgorio and Clwb programmes. Additionally, The Club also receive extensive press and web coverage both locally and nationally.

We have become an established team in the Welsh Premier League and our ambition is to allow natural progression for local players to realise their ambitions. In January 2013, a fantastic product of our youth academy, Rhys Healey, signed for Cardiff City. Since then, he made his English Premier League debut against Chelsea.

To allow us to compete with the top teams in the league, we need as much sponsorship as possible to cover costs such as training, kits, travel, accommodation, ground rent and more. We would be delighted for you to partner us in this community investment, and at the same time, gain some positive PR coverage for your company.

Please take your time to browse through this booklet outlining the potential sponsorship opportunities available for theforthcoming season.

The Nomads’ AcademyThe Nomads’ Academy is widely recognised as one of the best academy setups in the whole of Wales, and this is backed up by our statistics of 25 Academy players that have been signed by professional clubs since 2011, and 26 academy graduates that have gone on to play for the first team since 2011.

Through our 13 teams, over 200 young footballers train and play weekly against the highest quality of opposition. Over the past 5 years, The Nomads’ Academy have visited Real Madrid, Chelsea, Fulham, Stoke and many more to play against their sides.

One of The Nomads’ Academy’s proudest achievements was the development of Rhys Healey. Rhys started with The Nomads U16 side before progressiong through the ranks to join the first team. Rhys’ standout season was the 2012/13 season which saw him make his Welsh Premier League debut coming off the bench against Bangor City, and forcing his way into the starting lineup against Carmarthen Town, where he scored one of the team’s four on the day.

12 starts and 8 appearances from the bench saw Rhys net 12 goals and attract the attention of many high profile clubs, but it was Cardiff City who swooped for the young starlet, putting pen to paper on a two and a half year contract with the Premiership side. Rhys has since gone on to make his English Premier League debut against Chelsea, as well as play for Colchester United and Dundee on loan.

The Quay 3GIn early 2016, The Nomads were pleased to open our new community facility, The Quay 3G. The FIFA 1* Synthetic 3G pitch situated at Connah’s Quay High School was the result of 18 months of work and was funded by Football Association of Wales, the UEFA Hat Trick Programme and gap personnel.

The facility was opened by Wales National Team Manager, Chris Coleman in January, and has been used since as a community hub with Connah’s Quay High School using the facility during the daytime for curricular activities. Out of school hours, The Nomads manage the facility and use it for training, tournaments and to host matches. Additionally, the facility is open to the public to book for personal bookings whenever the Club aren’t using it.

The new facility has been extremely popular with bookings taken up instantly, seeing over 1000 local community members make use of the facility each week.
