2016-2017 PBIS COACHES CALENDAR

• KICK-OFF>>>Provide guidelines of teaching school-wide rules and expectations to teachers

• REVIEW>>>Priorities and Action Plan from End of Year data review with team

• ORIENT>>>Provide new teacher and new student orientation regarding PBIS

• POST>>>Expectation posters and/or inspect previously posted expectations for wear and tear

Administrators Tips

Promote PBIS at Open House or PTO meetings

Plan PBIS kickoff for staff, students and parents

Survey parents for volunteer contributions to support PBIS

Identify & contact business partners and community resources

Organize a PBIS update for district meetings

AUGUSTCoaching Responsibilities

•Review and to teach rules and expectations daily for at least the first ten school days

•Update school contact information for PBIS teams

•Schedule monthly PBIS meetings for the year and email to [email protected]

Coaches Tips

Schedule PBIS Team Meetings and put on master calendar. At

least 9 meetings required to meet Recognition Criteria

Meet with principal and schedule a data sharing meeting

Schedule training or meeting for support staff (i.e. bus drivers,

cafeteria, etc.)

Ensure each teacher understands how expectations are going to be

taught and/or reviewed

Finalize student recognition plans and guidelines

Host a staff meeting to discuss implementation guidelines for

this school year

Video production or showing to students

SeptemberCoaching Responsibilities

•Plan how new students and staff through the year will be taught school-wide expectations and procedures

•Review last year’s ODR data as a team and with staff

•Begin action planning for the year

1• Provide new teacher/student orientation regarding PBIS

2• Ensure that team evaluates and continues Action Plan from previous year

3• Reflect on you coaching last year and plan toward personal goals for PBIS

• Hold Tier 2 Student Support meetings separately or as a part of monthly meeting

• These meetings are to identify students that would benefit from small group interventions beyond what universal school-wide interventions provide

* Create email distribution list for PBIS team

* Plan for school communication to disseminate information from team meetings

* Make plans to attend district coaches meeting

* Review TFI protocol

Administrators Tips

* Include PBIS expectations in parent newsletter, and student handbook

* Work with district and community for school-wide acknowledgment system

* Begin morning or afternoon announcements supporting PBIS character traits

• First Discipline Data Summary (DDS) will be sent to coach and principal during the 1st

week of the month•TFI walkthroughs and TFI inventory meetings will begin. Prepare for your assessment by reviewing the TFI manual• Self Assessment Survey (SAS) is to be completed this month

recommendations from the SET evaluation.

• Evaluate needs for professional development contact Tory Lawrence if PD assistance is needed
