Our Customers Are Focussed.
So are we!
“Our operational sustainability priorities are safety,
electricity, gas, water, waste and VOCs. Internally, we
call these priorities the “Big 6.”
“Safety is not an option, it is a requirement!” “We have continued
to make strides in reducing our use of materials, resources and
energy.”
“…reducing our use of energy and limiting
water usage.”
Sustainability is the capacity to endure.
Engineered SustainabilityTM by Rexnord is a
product program to help you design durable conveyor
systems with components that guarantee optimal product
handling, without compromising the ability to meet targets
on safety improvement, increased productivity,
water reduction and energy saving.
What is Engineered Sustainability™
Engineered Sustainability™
by Rexnord
10
Plastic materials for MatTop and
TableTop Chain for can conveying
• Part of Rexnord Engineered SustainabilityTM program is the promotion of high
quality plastic materials, that provide a low friction at a constant level.
• Rexnord does continuous research and testing of new plastic compounds in
three test locations: United States, Italy and The Netherlands.

HP™
High-Performance Acetal
HP-material reduces Horse power requirement by 40%
HP chain material benefits
HP-material reduces wear by 40%
HP chain material benefits
HP-material reduces backline pressure to minimize damage to the cans
HP chain material benefits
HP-material improves empty can stability
HP chain material benefits
Product example: HP 5936-series
Open area: 16%
Pitch: 0.75 inch / 19.05 mm
Thickness: 8.7 mm
Module Material: HP-acetal
Pin material: PBT
Width size: Imperial
Feedback from end-users on chain performance:
“Significant reduction in number of fallen cans, smoother running”
“Reduction of time needed to get full conveyor efficiency after start-up”
HP5936 at washer infeed conveyors
Retrofits of washer infeed conveyors to Rexnord HP5936 chain have solved
issues with high number of falling cans at various large end-users!
FRPLUS®Flame Retardant Low Friction
FRPLUS Description
FRPLUS is a high performance flame retardant polymer:
The material will self extinguish per the UL Standard 94 V-0 standard when the
source of ignition or flame is removed
Designed to run without external lubrication: generates constant low friction level
FRPLUS™ Features and Benefits
COF:
F: Lower coefficient of friction (significant reduction vs standard acetal)
B: Lower backline pressure in the cans. Requires no external lubrication to maintain low friction between the containers and the chain
Chemical resistance:
F: Resistant to drawing oil and aluminum oxide
B: Compatible with standard chemicals found in the can manufacturing process
Temperature range:
F: Suitable to use in environment up to 80 deg C (dry) / 65 deg C (wet)
B: FRPLUS can be used in majority of empty can handling conveyors
Material:
F: Material does not contain PWIS (paint wetting impairment substances)
B: Additives do not leak or migrate to the product being conveyed
