ABOUT EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS ................ 20
GENERAL INFORMATION ........................... 22
HOTEL MAP ................................................ 23
You are part of a movement of law students and lawyers who are committed to working for equal justice. We at Equal Justice Works aim to do everything in our power to provide the next generation of lawyers with the knowledge and resources needed to take your dedication and launch a public in-terest law career. During this weekend, more than 1,200 committed law students like you will have the opportunity to interview with more than 165 public interest employers from across the country.
In addition to the Career Fair, we have a dynamic and comprehensive Conference with leading lawyers who will share their insights and experiences with you in panels and workshops. Many of them are bringing innovative solutions to address injustices in under-served communities.
Here are some of this year’s highlights:
• U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Elena Kagan will be interviewed by Judge Ann C. Williams of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, about Justice Kagan’s public interest law career prior to becoming the 112th justice and fourth woman to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.
• Consumer Advocate Ralph Nader will talk about some of the troubling trends in the legal system and the challenges facing today’s public interest law students and lawyers.
• Topical workshops about public interest careers and student entrepreneurship.
• Table Talk sessions, where you will connect with dozens of employers and learn more about their work.
• Resume and cover letter review, along with mock interviews, to give you immediate feedback as you prepare for the job application process.
Equally important to the workshops and sessions, I encourage you to spend time networking with your peers. Learn about what they are doing in their schools and communities, and consider how you can implement these ideas on your own campus.
I want to thank the faculty and staff from our member law schools who support the public interest aspirations of their students. This event would be impossible without their help.
By attending this event, you are part of an extraordinary community of law students and lawyers committed to equal justice. Our goal is for you to leave this Conference and Career Fair fired up and with new relationships and ideas about how you can make a difference.
Sincerely,
David Stern Executive Director Equal Justice Works

The Mass Lawlessness of the Plutocracy and Oligarchy—Do Law Students Care?” A discussion with Ralph NaderThere is lawlessness in all directions against the rule of law. Lawlessness on foreign military actions; lawlessness for the corporate crime wave against consumers, workers and communities; lawlessness preventing access to justice; lawlessness in our criminal justice system; lawlessness operating in prisons; growing lawlessness of corporatization, of dispute resolution under fine print contracts; and systemic lawlessness by polluters and corporate fraudsters, leading to hundreds of billions of dollars in billing fraud. Do law students care about this? Mr. Ralph Nader will discuss this lawlessness while proposing remedies and reforms.
Grand Salons H & J
► Identity and the Law: A Discussion of Diversity & Inclusion in our Legal systemWhat impact do classifications such as race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability have on the communities they seek to categorize? How can law students and lawyers challenge these legal frameworks as we advocate on behalf of our clients? This session will give participants the opportunity to unpack these complex questions with a panel of experts focused on fostering diversity and inclusion in our legal system. We will engage a rich and interactive discussion that will leave you with practical considerations when working with diverse populations in your public interest law career.
