WorkCompCentral’s Comp LaudeTM Awards & Gala started five years ago with a very simple premise:Workers’ compensation does a lot of good things for people experiencing the misfortune of a workplace injury or illness and the professionals and their constituents deserve recognition.

Each year since its inception, the Comp LaudeTM event has seen exponential growth as people come to appreciate that remarkable things happen when workers’ compensation is executed as intended — The Grand Bargain is alive and well when we do the right thing!

Taking Comp LaudeTM to a new level, this year we have expanded to 2 1/2 days of awesome networking and celebration and included a new incredible education agenda focused on how we, as a community of professionals, can create a positive culture in the delivery of workers’ compensation benefits.

You’ll hear from one of the most moving keynote speakers in the world, former FDNY Lieutenant Joe Torrillo, who was at Ground Zero’s fire station on 9/11 performing light-duty work as a consequence of a work injury and was buried alive twice while assisting his fellow firefighters when Tower 1 and then Tower 2 collapsed upon him.

Bill Zachry, Sr. VP of Risk Management for Vons/Safeway/Albertsons, will open this year’s event with “Lessons in Developing a Positive Workers’ Compensation Culture.”

This year we also introduce the People’s Choice Awards, a dramatic and exciting new segment voted on by the audience. Valuable content, informative presentations, continuing education and well-deserved awards for lawyers, doctors, claims administrators, vendors, employers, injured workers and others make this an event not to miss.
