HiThere,Mynameis andIcurrentlyaFendEpsomGirlsGrammarSchool.Throughoutmy13yearsofschooling,IhavetakenahugeinterestincreaAvebasedsubjects.Iamcurrentlystudyinglevel3ArtDesign,Printmaking,DesignTechnology,GeographyandEnglish.InLevel2,IendorsedArtDesign,PrintmakingandDesignTechnologywithexcellence,endorsedGeographyandEnglishwithmerit,passedlevel2withexcellenceendorsementandalsowonthelevel2disAncAoncerAficatefordesigntechnologyatmyendofyearprizegiving.Ihopetomaintaintheseendorsementsinallsubjectsinlevel3andIamalsointheprocessofcompleAngArtDesignandPrintmakingscholarships.I tend to focusmyarton ideas that involvemyself, includingmyMaori cultureorpersonal issues.Thisyearmy idea forprintmaking revolvesaroundmypersonalanxietyandtheprocessofhowitaffectsme(andothers)mentallyandphysically.MyideaforartdesignisrevolvedaroundmypassionforhelpingandsupporAngothersinneedandIhavecreatedafundraisereventcalled‘NightAllBright”fortheFredHollowsFoundaAon.OvertheyearsIhavebeeninvolvedwithmanyextracurricularacAviAes/groupsincluding:Cheerleading,Netball,Megaschools(HipHopdancegroup),StageChallenge,DragonBoaAngandKotahitanga(MaoriCommiFee).ThisyearIamtheleaderofMegaschools,yearlevelrepresentaAveforKotahitangaandalsoArtsandCulturePrefect.AspartofKotahitangaIhavedesignedanartworkof4interlockingkorus,whichrepresentthe4valueswestandbyatEpsomGirlsGrammarSchoolforthecentenarynextyear.Theseextracurricularandleadershiproleshavegivenmetheopportunitytoexperienceandgainknowledgeonalotofdifferentenvironmentsandpeople,whichIbelievehas,andconstantlywillinfluencemycreaAveapproachtomydesignsandart.IamalsocurrentlyworkingpartAmeatNoshasaDeliAssistant,whichhasgivenmenewskills,aswellasanunderstandingonhowtomanagemyAmeefficientlyasIhave/amcurrentlybalancingwork,schoolandalsomyextracurricularcommitmentswhilstmaintaininghighgrades.“Chooseajobyoulove,andyouwillneverhavetoworkadayinyourlife.”–Confucious.ThisisaquotethatbothmyparentslivebyandonethatIwouldlovetoincorporateintomyfutureworkinglife.DesignissomethingIamtrulypassionateaboutandIwouldlovetofurtherdevelopmyskills invisualandconceptualdesignthroughtheBachelorofDesignmajoringinCommunicaAonDesignatAUT.ByaFendingboththeporfoliodayduringAprilandtheopendayinAugust,IcanconfidentlysaythatthepracAcal,handsonenvironmentaccompaniedbytheconceptualemphasisondesignisanatmosphereIwouldlovetobeamongstasithastheperfectcondiAonsformetothriveandachievetothebestofmyability.MyulAmategoalistograduatefromAUTwithadegreeandacareerthatIloveandamconstantlylearningfrom,thatshowcasestheskillsandknowledgeIhaveaFainedfrommystudiesathighschoolanduniversityandevokeposiAvechangeonpeople’slives.IamhonoredtopresenttoyouacollecAonofmyworkinthisporfolioandhopeyoucangatherfromtheseselectedpiecesofworktheloveandpassionIhaveforartanddesign.Yoursfaithfully,

‘Anxiety’The following series of work are segmentsfrom my printmaking board this year. Thetheme of my board revolves around mypersonal anxiety and the process of how itaffects me (and others) mentally andphysically. I enjoy the methods of etching,lithography and copper sulfate whenprintmaking and have uAlized theseprocesses and paired them with distortedimages and composiAons in order to evokethecommonfeelingsassociatedwithanxietytomyaudience.
