SFTV’s new format for 2016 will immerse the viewer in a visceral salt water fishing experience, and brings a level of storytelling, cinematography and authenticity that sets a new high water mark in outdoor media.   The look: Fishing for tarpon under bridges in Biscayne Bay, the water illuminated by the Miami skyline; the iridescent, phosphorescent glow of redfish after dark in New Smyrna Beach: scenes like these are presented with the cinematic flair of a Hollywood blockbuster thanks to improved production quality (shot in high definition 24p), underwater and aerial photography, and immersive sound design. In the vein of the classic ‘Mutual of Omaha’ nature series, SFTV’s documentary-style storytelling interweaves the people, the species and the environment to tell the story of the featured destination.

The people: Guides, captains, mates, conservationists, ecologists, and local anglers: Meet the people who know the ins and outs of their home waters, and give each destination their own authentic personality.   The species: Offshore fishing in the Florida Keys; catching bonefish and permit in Biscayne Bay; following bait pods that are pursued by predators like tarpon and shark; reels screaming as anglers catch a monster tuna off Cape Cod: SFTV showcases the world’s most sough-after trophy fish and puts viewers in the middle of the action. The environment: The biodiversity and wildlife refuges of New Smyrna Beach, the labyrinthine mangroves where the Everglades meets the Atlantic, the conservation and ecological issues facing the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi Delta, and more are explored in every episode with the help of world-renowned conservationists, ecologists and marine biologists.
