EVIDENCE BASED USE OF AMNIOTIC PRODUCTS SYMPOSIUMLearners will be given the opportunity to appreciate the potential uses of amniotic tissues for dermatological and musculoskeletal pathology, review the science of wound healing and the advantages of amniotic tissue in healing chronic wounds, and learn how amniotic tissue benefits orthopedic reconstruction and the treatment of chronic foot and ankle pathology.
CURRENT CONCEPTS IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF PERIPHERAL NERVE PROBLEMS IN LOWER EXTREMITYLearners will be able to understand diagnostic principles of peripheral nerve problems and appreciate the latest treatment options for peripheral nerves.
APMA REGIONAL LECTURE SERIES: INTERESTING CASE STUDIES IN DERMATOLOGICAL CONDITIONSThis presentation will highlight new and various interesting dermatological conditions as they might manifest in the skin of the lower extremity. Learners will gain a better appreciation for the wide array of skin disease that can present in the skin of the foot, and the unconventional presentation that they may have when manifesting in this location. The ideal biopsy technique and subsequent management of the various conditions will be discussed.
APMA REGIONAL LECTURE SERIES: UPDATE ON DERMATOLOGICAL CONDITIONS: TREATMENT ADVANCESLearners will be able to discuss the diagnosis and management of inflammatory skin disorders and the various topical steroidal and non-steroidal options to treat these conditions.
CHANGING HOW WE THINK ABOUT FOREFOOT SURGERYLearners will have the opportunity to review typical diagnostic approaches and common treatments for challenging forefoot pathology, review the evidence-based medicine approach to plantar plate repair, recognize and appreciate the compromises made when performing bunion surgery to account for patient goals and patient centered care, and understand why our current thinking about bunions is wrong and what to do about it.
