GridEYE is an 8x8 (64) pixel infrared array sensor.
It uses an array of thermopile to measure actual temperature as well as temperature gradients
It is a high precision compact SMD design using MEMS technology.
Features
GridEYE can detect the direction of moving people and objects up, down, left, right and diagonally.
Its coordinated array of sensing elements can even detect multiple people or objects moving in different directions.June 28, 2016

Grid-EYE Sensor
Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems Europe (PAISEU)Next, Id like to describe component parts and their functions.Our sensor mainly consists of 4 component parts.Silicon lens, analog-digital Mixed signal ASIC, Infrared Ray detector and Ceramic package.Silicon lens has a function of image formation of infrared image.Infrared Ray detector has 8 times 8 pixels and thermal insulation structure with MEMS technology.It has a function of pixel conversion and thermoelectric conversion of image formation by silicon lens.Analog-digital Mixed signal ASIC readouts 64-pixcels signal of IR detector, amplifies its signal, and converts analog to digital.Based on its electrical signal, it corrects sensitivity and outputs the data through digital communication. Those parts, Silicon lens, analog-digital Mixed signal ASIC and Infrared Ray detector, are packed in Ceramic package.Ceramic package excels in airtightness. It has a function of shielding radio wave noise.
