WELCOME

Welcome to the inaugural 2017 Bendigo Cycling Classic!

Thanks for signing up to our very first Bendigo Cycling Classic event. We hope you enjoy our carefully selected routes that journey through the historic streets of Bendigo before exploring the surrounding, picturesque countryside.

This year’s event is aiming to raise much needed funds for two fantastic, local charities - so just by registering you’ve already made a difference! 100% of all funds raised via registration will be donated 50/50 to Give Me 5 for Kids Bendigo and The OTIS Foundation.

Whether you’re interested in riding your best time, experiencing the great outdoors with your family or just want to add incentive and special meaning to your ride by helping us raise funds we hope you have fun!

See you at the end.

MECHANICAL SUPPORTThere will be no mechanical support available at the Event Precinct or out on the course.

Should you experience difficulties and you need assistance please call the Sag Wagon support number located on the back of your event bib and they can arrange to pick you up and return you to the Event Precinct.

FIRST AID & EMERGENCYSt Johns Ambulance Service will provide First Aid support out on course. Additional First Aid support will be provided at the Event Precinct.

SAG WAGONA Sag Wagon will be provided to cover the short courses (25km/35km) with a second Sag Wagon provided to cover the longer courses (60km/100km). These Sag Wagons will follow the last rider on the longest course of the two.

Riders unable to complete the event or those who have broken down will be required to place their bike in a van/trailer and travel back to Bendigo in the Sag Wagon. To access the Sag Wagon, either notify an Event Marshal or call the Sag Wagon number listed on your bib number. If you require support, turn your bike upside down and wait off the road. Signal to the drivers of the support vehicles, but please do not stand on the road when signalling.

Please note that the Sag Wagon will stop for 10 minutes at each Aid Station after the arrival of the last rider. Any riders stopping for long periods throughout the event risk being overtaken by the Sag Wagon. In this case the event support crews will no longer service those riders.

ROAD RIDE CUT-OFF TIMESSupport staff from 8.30am will service the course until 1.30pm. For the safety of cyclists and volunteers a cut-off time for the 60km/100km rides will be imposed at Emu Creek at 12.30pm. Cyclists should consider this cut-off time and their cycling fitness levels when entering The Classic. Cyclists who arrive at Emu Creek after 12.30pm will be able to continue along the course but there will not be marshals after this time.

Thank you for taking part in the 2017 Bendigo Cycling Classic supporting Give Me 5 for Kids and The OTIS Foundation. We really hope you enjoy the ride and look forward to joining you for FUN and festivities at the end of your ride, see you next year!
