2017
It is with great pleasure and a good deal of pride that I commend this publication to members of our College community and beyond in providing details about our 2017 Higher School Certificate results. It is testament to the commitment to learning and achievement that once again our Year 12 class has produced outstanding results. Equally, our teaching staff is worthy of this recognition for the quality of the learning experiences that our boys are afforded, from Year 5 all the way through to Year 12.
We are proud of the academic achievements of our boys and commit ourselves to excellence in all facets of learning and teaching. Our College is a non-selective, comprehensive Catholic boys’ school in the Edmund Rice tradition. We accept enrolments from boys not based on their academic ability or potential, but rather on the desire of families for a Catholic education. The culture of our College is such that the aspiration to succeed is deeply embedded in the way we do things around here. Equally importantly, our work with families in helping to produce well-rounded, caring and considerate gentlemen who are prepared to use their gifts to serve others is always at the forefront of our endeavours.
What is most pleasing about the 2017 results is the variety of courses and faculties from which high achievers are represented. I offer my sincere congratulations to all boys in the Class of 2017 on their results, and pay particular tribute to Frank Malfitano as College Dux with an ATAR of 99.55 and Nicholas McFadden as Proxime Accessit with an ATAR of 98.95. In addition, mention must be made of Nicholas McFadden who came 8th in the State in Studies of Religion 1 Unit, Matthew Miceli for his nomination and inclusion in ArtExpress and Nicolas Di Cecco for his Encore nomination. In all, the Class of 2017 achieved 161 Band 6 or E4 nominations. These results speak loudly of the strength and success of St Patrick’s College. I hope you are as proud of our students as we are!

2 HSC 2017 RESULTS
Principal’s Introduction
Congratulations to our graduating Class of 2017 on their outstanding Higher School Certificate results.
It is well acknowledged by the wider community that the College has a rich enduring tradition and a highly regarded reputation bolstered by high standards, expectations and results in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits whilst offering a quality contemporary Catholic and secular education. These are well-documented and reiterated in various College publications posted periodically on the College’s website, such as the Especean, the Lucerna, the Lumen and the Annual Report.
The following pages of this publication are part of an ongoing testament to the consistently strong academic performance achieved by our senior students each and every year in the Higher School Certificate.
Mr Michael Cutrupi
Please note that the College does not receive formal notifications of ATAR results. As such the results contained within this booklet have been shared with the College by the students themselves.
