2018 – 2019 Lodge Officers
Committees
Hello Members,
I know last month I had said I was
going to Resign, but after careful
consideration and encouragement
from our officers and from some
members, I have reconsidered my
position and I will remain Exalted Ruler until the end of my
term. I hope last month’s discussion didn't affect any
members and if it did I truly apologize. So, with that being
said let’s all get back to Lodge business and the friendship
and camaraderie that we all have as Elks.
I would like to make one thing perfectly clear if any member
who sees something wrong or something they don't like in the
Antler room you should immediately report this to Geniel, and
Geniel should address your concerns. If not totally feel free to
call me. But just making it clear your 1st attempt should
would be going to Geniel. Thank you.
We also have some events going on in the Lodge please attend
and support them. All of our volunteers work really hard
organizing the events and remember All Monies that are
earned goes to Supporting our Lodge and All of committees.
Which then goes to our Veterans and community.
So, again I report that our Lodge is doing fine. Let us all try to
bring that family atmosphere back to our Lodge. Enjoy all the
benefits that our Lodge has to offer. Let's please remember
this is your Lodge, every member has a say in what's going
on. So please come to our meetings all are welcome at both
meetings for now. God Bless and hope to see you all soon.
Fraternally
Michael Greaver
Exalted Ruler

Back By Popular Demand Mike's Original Marinated Steak Night November 2nd 5pm-8pm in the Antler Room
We will be having a sign up sheet posted in the antler room around the 2nd week of October to ensure plenty of steaks to be
available. There will be plain steaks available for those who may want a non-marinated steak. As in the past, we will have the
Three Phat Guys cooking the fresh steaks to order and Mikie Vibbert making the marinade and marinating the fresh cut steaks
for 24 hours. Please, look on the board for the sign up sheet and for all new members, this is one steak night that you don't want
to miss!! All members are encouraged to come and join in the good food and fun of the evening. The regular menu will be
available. We look forward to serving the members a great dinner and enjoying the fellowship of the evening. Thank You for
your support!! ************************************************************************************************************************
I want to inform the officers and members that despite being advertised in the East County Times for weeks, being in the
August & September's bulletin, having several volunteers from our Lodge and other Lodges, and having several flyers posted
and distributed we were unable to reach the goal needed for the Casino Themed Night Fundraiser that was scheduled for
October 6th. This was a fundraiser designed to raise money for our Christmas Basket , Veterans, Drug Awareness, and Youth
Committees and well advertised. It is necessary that at this time due to coming just short of our goal in ticket sales by the date
needed, we will be postponing the event. I want to thank everyone who was involved in any way with helping this event. I want
to also Thank the committee: Tammy Mathena, Josie Clifton, Marie Cavey and Debbie Price for everything. I also want
to Thank Gary Hill for getting it advertised in The East County Times. Due to the amount of tickets that were sold and the
overwhelming interest in this fundraiser, I am postponing this event at the soonest date possible, so for everyone that had
bought a ticket and will be receiving a refund from the person that sold you the ticket, Please know that I will be advertising
soon the new date and time so everyone can enjoy this great Fundraiser benefitting our lodge and its programs. Thank you for
the Support and interest that was received from the membership, we came very close to making our goal and it will be
rescheduled to a new date and time to be announced. I do apologize on behalf of this Fundraiser committee and hope you will
still participate in the new date to come. There will be a tote for non perishable foods and canned good donations, located in the
Antler room, set out by October 1st for this years annual Christmas Basket collection. I am also asking for any donations for
this years annual Basket of Cheer that I will be working on, ticket sales and drawling date to be announced. As always, thank
you for your ongoing support of the Christmas Basket Program and all our community programs and all that we do as Elks
together!
Fraternally,
Linda Vibbert ,Esteemed Loyal Knight ************************************************************************************************************************
Since we have made the Americanism corner in the Antler Room and changed the location to the corner going into the back
room, we have received several contest entries for both contest for this years Americanism contest and hope that we continue to
get more. The lodge deadline is in December and I am proud of the improvement of entries thus far and am looking forward for
more to come by the deadline. All instructions, deadlines, contest rules and questions, along with the simple 1 half page entry
cover sheet with all supplies needed for either contest entry are posted on the wall and located on the table in the Americanism
corner. As Elks, I ask us all to do our part in steering our children to visit and encourage any child to enter one or both of the
contest that we have. Thank -You for your continued support.
Patriotically,
Linda Vibbert, Lodge Americanism Chairman ************************************************************************************************************************
As the Americanism District Chairman for NC and as representative of our Essex Lodge it's part of my duties to not only give a

Saturday afternoon, along with my fellow district chairman, at the September State conference weekend to discuss this years
Americanism Program, contests, and the banquet in March. I will give my report at next months meeting and on the Elks Lodge
# 1866 community fundraising Facebook page. I look forward to representing our Lodge and this important Americanism
Program to the best of my ability, again this year. Thank- You for your support.
Patriotically,
Linda Vibbert, District Chairman of Americanism for NC ************************************************************************************************************************
