The progress made during 2017 is better than that made in the last few years. This is very clear indicator of the fact that INJM is growing and evolving to meet the challenge posed by scientific publications from around the world. The number of competitors

Page 12: 2018 - AMI- INDIAamiindia.info/files/download_file/AMI_1st_Circular_2018... · 2020. 4. 13. · 1 ASSOCIATION OF MICROBIOLOGISTS OF INDIA (59th Annual Conference of AMI) December

10

is growing rapidly each year. The Impact Factor of INJM has improved from 0.457 for 2012, to 1.29 for 2016 and the corresponding citations of the papers have also seen an upward trend - from 419 in 2012 to 1003 in 2016. With the strong support of AMI CC members, and Editors of INJM, we have been able to bring out all the issues of INJM in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 in a scheduled and timely manner.

We all must be proud of the fact that the quality of papers published in INJM is reflected not only by the fact that they are being cited a lot, rather they are being cited in high Impact Factor Journals. Of all the papers published in 2016, INJM Volume 56 (I-IV), more than 30% have been cited in International Journals with Impact Factors ranging from 2.5 to 38.6 (Chemical Society Reviews) (Table):

Another milestone set by the papers published in Indian Journal of Microbiology, is their Google Scholar Citations:

It will be worth mentioning that INJM is subscribed by more than 6000 Institutions globally. INJM is likely to scale new heights with the strong support of AMI CC members and Editors of INJM. Last but not the least is the Royalty generated due to INJM, which has been flowing in steadily over the last 10 years (Details provided by the Treasurer AMI).There was high appreciation in the GB of the hard work done by the Editor-in-Chief and his team. The reports of the Editor-in-Chief were proposed for approval by Prof. T. Satyanarayana and seconded by Prof. Prince Sharma.
