BEFORE YOUGO OUT THERE, MAKE YOUR HOME HERE.

Check your arrival timeBefore traveling to campus, check your MyUHDS online portal for your assigned hall, room, roommate information, and arrival time. We assign move-in day arrival times by the hour to help with traffic flow, elevator availability, and volunteer staffing.myuhds.oregonstate.edu

Stay informedCheck your OSU-provided email address daily and read the move-in guide on the UHDS website. Our online guide features check-in information, traffic and unloading zone maps, and other important tips. uhds.oregonstate.edu/move-in-guide

What to bring/what to leaveReview the online list of items to bring and note that certain items are not allowed in the residence halls. uhds.oregonstate.edu/what-to-bring

Unwrap and unbox at homeUnwrap new items and dispose of the packaging at home. It saves space when you pack and helps prevent an overflow of the campus trash and recycling bins.

Be alert, be preparedSign up to participate in the OSU Alert system for notifications via phone call, email and text in the event of an emergency on campus. oregonstate.edu/alerts/osu-alert-portal

UHDS recommends that all residents purchase supplemental insurance to cover personal property in the event of theft, fire, or other disaster. Students can purchase coverage through their family’s existing provider, or through one of many insurance agencies.

Check the campus mapsThere are special traffic patterns to accommodate move in. Check our online move-in guide for the traffic and unloading zones on your side of campus. uhds.oregonstate.edu/move-in-guide

Bring your OSU ID cardBring your OSU identification card to check in. Without it, you will need an alternate ID so our staff can help you. If you did not pick up your ID card during a START session, please pick it up at the OSU ID Center in the Memorial Union, room 103.

Loft and bunk kitsTo help maximize space in your residence hall room, you can rent a loft or bunk kit for the school year. Sign up via MyUHDS. Cost is $210. uhds.oregonstate.edu/loft-kits

Free TV, movies and Pac-12 streamingStream TV shows, movies and sporting events directly to your devices via XFINITY On Campus. You can also stream the Pac-12 Networks and movies via Beaver Movie Streaming.uhds.oregonstate.edu/networks-and-streaming

Computer network connectionsAll residence hall rooms have both a wired network connection and OSU wireless connectivity. Bring a network cable to connect to the wired network. Wireless routers or access points are not allowed. uhds.oregonstate.edu/resnet

CommunityGet involved in your residence hall and know your neighbors from the get-go by attending the hall meeting after dinner on Move-In Day.

DiningUHDS supports options and labeling for vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free diets, as well as common allergens.uhds.oregonstate.edu/menus/nutritionFor specific nutrition or special diet questions, contact Tara Sanders (UHDS registered dietitian) at [email protected].

Orange RewardsGet a 10 percent Orange Rewards discount at 30 dining locations on campus when you pay using the Orange Cash account on your OSU ID card. New on-campus residents for Fall 2018 will have $100 pre-loaded, which will be charged to your account in addition to your UHDS dining plan.food.oregonstate.edu/orange-rewards

Receiving mailVisit MyUHDS to see your assigned mailing address. It will be posted approximately two weeks prior to your arrival. You can pick up mail and packages at your area Service Center after you have moved in.uhds.oregonstate.edu/service-centers

Campus LivingUHDS distributes Campus Living, a bi-weekly email newsletter, to all residents. Keep your eyes open for the pre-Move-In issue, which will have other helpful tips for making your move to Beaver Nation.

MOVE-IN DAY: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

Move-In Day StepsWhen you arrive during your scheduled move-in period, go directly to your residence hall. Use caution and watch for special traffic signage.

Pick up your room key from Service Center staff.

Move your belongings to your room. There will be volunteers and equipment available to help you throughout the move-in process.

Fill out a Room Condition Report on MyUHDS within 24 hours and note the condition of your room and furnishings to help avoid additional charges when moving out.
