401(k)

A Tax Favored Savings Program (401(k)) is available to assist in saving for retirement. The plan allows employees to contribute a percentage of their earnings from each paycheck. All regular part-time and full-time employees are eligible to contribute to their 401(k) upon hire. Payroll deductions can begin as early as first paycheck or otherwise as soon as administratively feasible. Employees may contribute up to 75% of salary with a 100% company match on up to 5% of eligible earnings. A participant becomes vested in the plan after 2 years of eligible service.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

There are two types of FSAs available; medical and dependent care. A medical spending account is a pre-tax savings account setup to reimburse for medical services, and expenses that are not covered by traditional insurance, i.e. office/prescription drug co-pays, dental services, etc. All regular part-time and full-time employees scheduled to work a minimum of 17.5 hours per week are eligible for the medical FSA following one year of eligible BCBSKS service.
