A Note From the Principal…

Dear Parents:

It is hard to believe we are in the home stretch of the 2017-18 school year! As stu-

dents are returning from Intersession III break, it will be a quick finish with

graduation nearing, preparations for final exams and then taking final

exams. Planning is being finalized for the upcoming graduation ceremony and all

the trimmings for the Davison High School Class of 2018! This tends to be a time of

mixed feelings for seniors: a time of triumph and a time of unsettlement. Most are

eager to move on to the next chapter of life but are a little nervous about the

unknown. After all, their routine has been well established for them for the past 12-

13 years! Some students may still be trying to decide their next steps which is okay

as well. Needless to say, graduation is one of proudest moments in a young adult’s

life to date. It is a great time to reflect and celebrate the accomplishments of each

graduate. It is a proud time for parents as well as they celebrate this significant

milestone.

For our 9th, 10th and 11th grade students, time matters! It is important for

students to stay focused and FINISH STRONG! Now is the time to pay extra atten-

tion to your school work and grades and to keep solid attendance a

priority. Summer will be here before we know it and then there is time for

students to relax a bit! It has truly been a privilege for our staff to partner with you

and your child in your high schooler’s educa-

tional journey.

Thank you for allowing us the

opportunity to help them grow academically, in

character and to become college and career

ready. Have a fulfilling summer

ahead! Monday, August 20, 2018, will be here

before we know it!

Respectfully,

Mr. Lott's Introduction to Business students are learning business and

management concepts with the help of a business simulation called Virtual

Business. After learning business principles, students are able to apply

those principles to their own virtual business. "In an ideal world, students

would learn about business by running their own businesses. The Virtual

Business simulation is a great alternative. The decisions students make in

the simulation determine how much profit (or loss) they earn. It's a great

tool for hands-on learning," stated DHS instructor Eric Lott.
