Consultation update

We have been working hard to get another vehicle to use for the Line Rescue Team, due to the Ute being too small for the amount of resources required. We anticipate a van arriving shortly as a trial for the team. Blue watch have had their third Sunday morning breakfast for the year at Joes Garage. This is a great chance for the watch to catch up in a relaxed setting.

Staff positions-The current plan is for the new recrut David Brooky to go onto Blue watch, and Paloma Serville to go onto Red Watch.

For operation efficiency Adam O`Rourke will be staying on Green Watch.

The Station Officers Position has been advertised and is currently up on the portal.

Operational Support

Massive thank you to the Green Watch crew from Pukete Station for turning us out on Wednesday morning for a salvage job in a house in their patch. It’s been awhile since we have had a call, so was great to be able to get out and assist a FENZ customer! Extra special for one of our newest personal RFF Kaenan Fergusion, as this was his first ever incident.

New Equipment

We have managed to acquire a battery powered Holmatro pump which will be going onto Chartwell 427.

Please go over how this operates and put it in sms under new equipment.

Incident Reporting

Can Officers please keep in mind that prompt incident reporting assists with reporting outcomes. This is an important tool used for future resourcing. “Incident Reports should be completed as soon as possible after an incident but no later than 14 days after the incident, and 3 days for Serious or Unusual Incidents.”

Training

Red Watch running a drill on Thursday – Tirfor use

Line Rescue

Four of us assisted the police on Old Mountain road this week.

We had to identify if the bones in the bottom of a tomo were Human.

No they weren’t.

Welfare process

Fire and Emergency NZs preference is that if you feel you require external support, that you contact Vitae Services on 0508 664 981

This is private and the Fire Service won’t receive your details

This service can be for you or a family member. They can put you or your family member in touch with a trained Professional councilor.

If this doesn’t help or is not the right fit for you, we can organise for you to see Jason Hannett or one of his team.

or

If you do not feel that a Councilor is not the right fit for you can make direct contact with your AAM, Steve Dyer, Mike Townsend or Rochelle Bull. Any one of us will then contact Jason and have him make contact with you to proceed further. You will have anonymity with this process.
