FLO è un marchio storico nella produzione di stoviglie in plastica e bicchieri per la distribuzione automatica. L’Azienda, con sede a Fontanellato (Pr), è nata nel 1973 per volere del fondatore Antonio Simonazzi. Pur mantenendo un forte legame con il territorio di appartenenza, FLO è oggi uno dei maggiori player europei del settore. Alla sede principale si affianca lo stabilimento produttivo di Ruitz, in Francia, cuore strategico del mercato di FLO in Nord e Centro Europa, che permette di offrire ai clienti un impeccabile servizio sia logistico che post vendita. HISTORY

FLO is a well established brand synonymous of the manufacturing of vending cups and disposable tableware. The company, based in Fontanellato (Parma), Italy was founded by Antonio Simonazzi in 1973.Still retaining strong links to its roots, FLO today has grown into one of Europe’s main players. The manufacturing site in Ruitz, France, complements the Fontanellato HQ as a strategic hub for the Central and North European markets providing customers with flawless logistics and after sales service. With earlier investments in a number of manufacturing companies across Europe FLO has access to a wide range of products, and with sales offices in France, Germany, Poland and UK, can also provide a comprehensive logistics service. L'INNOVAZIONE

Innovazione e sostenibilità ambientale sono due concetti strettamente collegati nella strategia aziendale di FLO. Non c’è innovazione che non comporti anche un abbattimento dell’impatto ambientale.Il magazzino automatizzato FLO è un gioiello di tecnologie e di materiali. Il magazzino è dotato di un innovativo sistema di prevenzione incendi: grazie all’impoverimento dell’ossigeno nell’aria, si ottiene un’atmosfera modificata che impedisce l’accensione di fiamme.Il sistema di riconoscimento sagoma rifiuta tutti i pallets che non rispondono a rigide caratteristiche di qualità. I pallets movimentati automaticamente sono 180 ogni ora per una capacità totale di 27.000 unità.Con il collegamento diretto alla produzione, sono stati eliminati i navettaggi con i magazzini satellite che generavano 27 tonnellate di CO

2 l’anno.

Dal 2015 è inoltre attivo il co-generatore ad alto rendimento e basso impatto che produce il 75% del fabbisogno energetico dello stabilimento.Tra i prodotti, novità assoluta in termini di innovazione, Hybrid, un bicchiere costruito con materiale composito - plastica unita ad un mix di sali naturali - che rappresenta una soluzione reale per la riduzione delle emissioni di CO

2 nell’ambiente.

INNOVATION

Within the company strategy there is a strong link between innovation and environmental sustainability. At FLO there is no innovation that doesn’t involve a reduction of the impact on the environment.FLO’s futuristic warehouse is a fantastic example of this technology.It includes an innovative oxygen modified atmosphere fire prevention system where it is impossible for a fire to start.A shape recognition system rejects any pallet that doesn’t meet strict quality standards and the highly automated system can move up to 180 pallets per hour in the facility that holds a total of 27.000 pallets.By directly connecting it to the adjoining manufacturing area enabled the site to became fully integrated and eliminate the use of external warehouses, thereby reducing CO2 emission by 27 tons per annum.In 2015 FLO installed a hi-efficiency/low impact co-generation plant that now supplies 75% of the company’s energy needs.Hybrid is the latest product innovation. A cup made from a composite material - plastic mixed with natural salts - that makes a real positive impact in reducing carbon footprints.

LE CERTIFICAZIONI

Nel proprio percorso di miglioramento ambientale, FLO ha ottenuto le principali certificazioni in ambito aziendale e di prodotto. In particolare: la ISO 9001:2008 che definisce gli standard per la gestione della qualità aziendale; la ISO 14001:2004 che qualifica la gestione ambientale dell’azienda; la BRC-IOP che definisce gli standard di sicurezza igienico-sanitaria degli imballaggi alimentari.In relazione alle certificazioni di prodotto, oltre ai vari certificati di alimentarietà, FLO ha acquisito la certificazione MID tacca di livello, il certificato di compostabilità dei prodotti in bioplastica e la PEFC, che attesta la provenienza della carta usata nella produzione dei bicchieri da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile.Soltanto nello stabilimento di Parma, vengono registrati quotidianamente oltre 4000 controlli sui prodotti che sono soggetti ad un monitoraggio continuo h24. FLO garantisce inoltre la tracciabilità totale di ogni lotto: dalla materia prima, proveniente da fornitori certificati - riconosciuti player mondiali di settore -, fino alle confezioni di vendita.

CERTIFICATIONS

As part of its environmental journey, FLO has secured and retained the most important corporate and product certifications. In particular: ISO 9001:2008 sets the standards for the company quality management; the ISO 14001:2004 governs the company’s environmental policies; BRC-IOP defines the quality, safety and responsibility standards for the food related packaging sector.Alongside its food contact compliance certificates, FLO holds the MID Certification for the volume accuracy of the cups, the compostability certification for its bioplastic products and the PEFC certification stating its paper cups are only made using paper board from sustainable forestry.In the site of Parma only, over 4000 controls h24 across the product are tracked and recorded every day. FLO grant total traceability of every batch: from the receipt of raw materials, sourced via certified major global players - through to the smallest sales unit.

FLO started out as a factory producing plastic cups for the vending market. These “simple cups” are actually complicated technical items that have to consistently meet strict specifications in dimension, weight, surface treatment and material consistency. Quality and control over its product specification parameters are reference values in FLO manufacturing.The full traceability of the products is guaranteed by the process that tracks raw material into the factory through the production and distribution service to each single unit of finished product sold to the end user. FLO is recognized as a manufacturer of products meeting the highest professional standards. In addition to its highly trained after sales service, a quality control team reinforces the importance of quality awarness in every step of the manufacturing. Tutti i materiali complementari ed alternativi a quelli tradizionalmente prodotti da FLO sono contenuti in questa nuova linea, che risponde ad una crescente tendenza, manifestata da consumatori attenti e rispettosi dell’ambiente, nel preferire prodotti sostenibili, prodotti che siano quindi riciclabili al 100% e/o provenienti da risorse facilmente rinnovabili e compostabili.

Della gamma fanno parte stoviglie in fibra vegetale, in biopolimeri compostabili, in carta e legno, tutte materie prime derivate da risorse 100% naturali, lavorate in modo da assicurare il massimo della qualità e delle performance del prodotto.

All the complementary and alternative materials to those traditionally produced by FLO are contained in this new line, which responds to a growing trend manifested by attentive and environmentally conscious consumers, in preferring sustainable products, which are therefore 100% recyclable and/or coming from easily renewable and compostable resources.

The range includes tableware made of vegetable fiber, compostable biopolymers, paper and wood, all raw materials derived from 100% naturals resources, processed in such a way as to ensure maximum quality and performance of the product.

Within the Biological range, depending on the type of materials, the following categories are distinguished:

BIODEGRADABILESi definisce biodegradabile un materiale che si degrada, normalmente per azione di batteri, luce solare e altri agenti fisici naturali, in composti chimici più semplici come acqua, anidride carbonica e metano.

La normativa europea stabilisce che per essere definito biodegradabile un prodotto deve decomporsi del 90% entro 6 mesi.

BIODEGRADABLE A biodegradable material is defined as degrading, normally by the action of bacteria, sunlight and other natural physical agents, into simpler chemical compounds such as water, carbon dioxide and methane.

European legislation states that to be biodegradable a product must decompose 90% within 6 months.

pesanti, solidi volatili, N, P, K, Mg, pH e sali non deve differire da un compost di riferimento.

COMPOSTABLEAccording to the European standard UNI EN 13432:2000, a material to be compostable must meet the following requirements:

Le certificazioni FSC e PEFC , riconosciute a livello globale, garantiscono l’approvvigionamento etico delle materie prime forestali in accordo alle normative UE.In particolare certificano che i materiali utilizzati sono stati ottenuti da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile e possono essere rintracciati attraverso la catena di approvvigionamento, a garanzia della provenienza del manufatto finale.I loghi PEFC o FSC riportati sui nostri prodotti ne attestano quindi l’origine da fonti legali e sostenibili in conformità alle normative UE di prodotto.

The FSC and PEFC certifications, recognized on a global level, guarantee the ethical supply of forest raw materials according to EU regulations.In particular, they certify that the materials used have been obtained from sustainably managed forests and can be traced through the supply chain, to guarantee the origin of the final product.The FSC or PEFC logos reported on our products therefore attest to their origin from legal and sustainable sources in compliance with EU standards.

The products with the label "OK COMPOST" from TUV Austria or "Industrial compostable" from DIN Certco are guaranteed as biodegradable in industrial composting facilities. This applies to all components, inks and additives.  The certification is ruled by the EN 13432:2000 harmonized standard. All products with one of this logos comply with the requirements of the EU Packaging Directive (94/62 / EEC).

Seedling logo is a label attesting the compostability of a product in industrial composting facilities. It can be issued by an accredited company once the compostability of the product has been verified according to the standard EN 13432:2000.

I prodotti certificati "OK COMPOST" da TUV Austria o "Industrial Compostable" da DIN Certco sono biodegradabili negli impianti di compostaggio commerciale. La fibra vegetale utilizzata nei nostri prodotti deriva da "bagasse", che è uno scarto di lavorazione della canna da zucchero oppure polpa di cellulosa vergine estratta da legno di alberi. È riciclabile nella carta ma anche biodegradabile e compostabile al compostaggio industriale, secondo la norma europea UNI EN 13432:2000.Realizzati al 100% da fibra vegetale, i piatti e vassoi di questa linea posseggono una elevata rigidità e resistenza, si possono utilizzare in forno a microonde, sono impermeabili ai liquidi ed a sostanze oleose.

Vegetal fiber used in our products derived from "bagasse", a sugar cane processing waste, or virgin "cellulose pulp" from wood. I piatti in carta della linea Biologica sono fatti con fibra vergine e certificata FSC, derivante cioè da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile. Disponibili anche nell'innovativa versione plastic free, che garantisce una buona tenuta ai liquidi senza aggiunta di alcun film in plastica. Si ottiene così un prodotto monomateriale facilmente riciclabile e biodegradabile.

Biologica paper plates are made of virgin fiber and FSC certified, which means derived from forests managed in a sustainable way. Available also the innovative version "plastic free" , that ensure a good seal to liquids and avoid to use a plastic barrier film. Thus an easily recyclable and biodegradable monomaterial product is obtained.

I bicchieri in carta della linea Biologica sono fatti con fibra vergine e certificata PEFC, derivante cioè da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile. La gamma comprende bicchieri basici bianchi, bicchieri compostabili realizzati con carta accoppiata a film in biopolimero e gli elaborati "ripple cup", bicchieri per bevande calde con una tripla parete isolante.

Biologica paper cups are made with virgin fiber PEFC certified, which derives from forests managed in a sustainable way. The range includes basic white cups, compostable cups made of paper coupled with biopolymer film and the elaborate "ripple cup", cups for hot drinks with a triple insulating wall.

I bicchieri Ecokay sono realizzati in acido polilattico (PLA), un polimero biodegradabile dell’acido lattico, ottenuto dalla fermentazione degli zuccheri del mais.

Sono biodegradabili e compostabili al compostaggio industriale, secondo la norma europea UNI EN 13432:2000.

Realizzati al 100% da materia prima vegetale, sono idonei all’uso solo con bevande fredde fino a una temperatura di max. 50°C.

Ecokay cups are made of Polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable polymer of lactic acid, which is produced starting from a fermentation processes of sugar or starch (e.g. corn).

PLA cups are biodegradable and compostable in commercial facilities, in accordance with EU regulation UNI EN 13432:2000.

Made 100% from natural sources, they are suitable for use with cold drinks, up to maximum 50°C.
