Sunday School Will Begin September 9th!

It’s almost time for Sunday School to resume,

This is the day the Lord has made!

Let us rejoice & be glad in it!

~ Thank You ~

I would like to thank everyone for all the

beautiful cards and gifts I received for my

90th birthday. Also, thanks to those who

helped me celebrate by attending the open

house on June 29th at the church - it was

a wonderful day. God bless you all.

With love,

Berniece Wendt

We LOVE having special music during summer services. If you are interested in sharing your vocal or instrumental talents, please call Kathy Moorhouse (927-5594)

at least two weeks in ad-vance so we can coordi-nate your musical selec-tion(s) within the service and provide piano accom-

paniment for you, if needed. (A special word of encouragement to our youth: we’d love to have you participate in worship in this way!)

Stewardship Update

The “Mission of the Month” for June was the NALC Disaster Response Fund, with $203.91 col-lected. Lutheran World Relief was the July MOTM (amount not yet known), & the First Lutheran Good Samaritan Fund will be the August mission.

Also, THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our “Relay for Life” team the best ever! Our FLC Team goal was $1000.00, and with the help of so many of you we raised $1802.00 for the American Cancer Society. Thank you, one and all!

~ Sandy Estill, Chair

The Church Ladies Group continues to support

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you for your support

of the OCC/Shoebox Pro-

ject. Families all over the

world appreciate the gift of

a shoebox! Suggestions for

August include school sup-

plies such as pencils, sharp-

eners, erasers, pens, rulers,

small notebooks, writing pads,

crayons, colored pencils, scis-

sors, glue sticks, calculators,

small coloring books, small

pencil bags, fabric bags with zippers, & small

plastic containers.

The Church Ladies group thanks you for your

involvement. For more ideas, do an online

search for “Operation Christmas Child”. Above

all, please pray over the supplies you select

that they are suited for the special child who

will receive the box. Please contact Sandy

Swanson (563-927-3397) if you have questions.

Mark your calendar!!

The weekend of August

4th & 5

th we will include

a special “Blessing of

the Backpacks” in our

worship services for all

teachers and students.
