About FerrisNow The FerrisNow brand encompasses all Ferris State University programs and collaborations that provide opportunities for high school students to earn college credit through concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment, career and education planning, college study methods and the Woodbridge Promise College Prep programs.
In addition to the stand-alone FerrisNow logo, the branding incorporates the FerrisNext Scholarship, which provides financial aid to successful FerrisNow students who select Ferris as their first choice for their post-secondary education.
The University’s Office of Transfer and Secondary School Partnerships oversees the FerrisNow Program.
Types of Courses Offered Through the FerrisNow Program College Readiness College Readiness are classes administered by the Ferris State
Developmental Curriculum Department. These include Career and Education Planning and College Study Methods. CARE 102: Career and Education planning is a course that guides students through career and education exploration. As a part of the course, students develop an individualized career and education plan that can be used to guide them throughout their college career. UNIV 101: College Study Methods is a course that allows students to explore different study methods and test taking skills as well as how to create an effective study environment. Both courses are offered to cohorts of students throughout Michigan. These courses may be offered fully online, in a blended format or face-to-face. Data pertaining to CARE 102 also includes students enrolled in the Woodbridge Promise College Prep Programs.
Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment courses are Ferris courses that are taught at a high school or career technical center. Concurrent Enrollment classes are actual Ferris State University courses that mirror the same classes taught on any FSU campus. The classes are taught by high school instructors who have been approved as adjunct Ferris instructors. The courses are taught during the normal high school day. Students are registered, assessed, and receive grades on a college transcript in the same manner as students in the same classes on campus.
Dual Enrollment Dual enrollment courses are Ferris courses that are taught by an adjunct or full-time professor at one of the FSU locations, online or in a high school setting. Students must meet legislated dual enrollment guidelines as well as Ferris admissions criteria to enroll for dual enrollment.
