LAST GAME ACTION Both teams closed out the regular season last week with a pair of Northern Indiana Conference North Division games. John Adams hosted SB St Joseph and lost to the Indians 42-12. Elkhart Central hosted New Prairie at Rice Field. The Blazers spoiled the season for New Prairie, defeating the Cougars 31 - 28, ending their chances of winning the NIC North outright.

SERIES HISTORY Tonight’s game is the final meeting between John Adams and Elkhart Central. The Blazers lead the series 33-11. Earlier this season Elkhart Central defeated John Adams at TCU School Field 40-0.

IHSAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY Since the IHSAA Tournament opened to all teams in 1985, John Adams and Elkhart Central have a total of one Sectional Championship between the two. Elkhart Central won the 5A Sectional Championship in 2014. John Adams and Elkhart Central have met each other twice in the IHSAA tournament. The Eagles won both of those meetings in 2009 and 2012. John Adams in 20-34 in the IHSAA Tournament and has never won a Sectional Championship. Last season the Eagles lost in the opening game of the tournament to LaPorte with a score of 33-19. Elkhart Central advanced to the Sectional Championship game last season, rolling past Ft Wayne North and Goshen in the first two games. The Blazers lost to Concord i the Championship game 17-14. This will be the final game between Elkhart Central and John Adams in the IHSAA Tournament.
