Year 11 students Selin Dogan, Jana Arts and Israa Badarne, past students from Fairy Meadow Demonstration School, Pleasant Heights PS and Wollongong PS, represented Keira High School in the State Model United Nations as France at the NSW Parliament House on Saturday.

The presiding MP Hugh McDermott, who was recruited to Team France congratulated the students and related how fantastic it was to see such strong, confident young women leading the way in equitable representation in Politics and International Relations, an experience he will share at the next parliamentary sitting.

This is another example of some of the wonderful opportunities that Keira High provide their students! Regional Cross Country Carnival Good luck to the following students who will compete at the Regional Cross Country this coming Friday 7 June. Billy A, Sophie R, Grace L, Finn B, Lexi M, Max T, Nour S, Isabella R, Oliver M and Zoe Mc.

Dance Festival Twenty–four excited year 2 students performed at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre last week (on Thursday night, Friday night and a Saturday matinee), as part of the South Coast Dance Festival. The students have been rehearsing for at least two days a week during their lunch times since mid-term one, to prepare for their performance, titled ‘Monsters’. Pleasant Heights students were consistently complimented by the Dance Festival Executive staff for their outstanding behaviour. Their dancing was pretty good too! It was a great fun experience that will create wonderful memories! Vanessa Carter and Elise Parkes

P&C News Bellambi Bunnings BBQ & Cake Stall

On Saturday 25 May, the PHPS P&C ran the Bellambi Bunnings BBQ and Cake Stall. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time on the day to help us in the BBQ and to those who made cakes and sweets for the cake stall and those who donated supplies for the BBQ. It was a great day and a very successful fundraiser, with the BBQ raising $1783.55 and the cake stall $627.10, so $2410.65 in total. It was a great school community effort and it is only with your help that we can run these successful fundraisers, so thank you so much. Special thanks to Leisure Coast Fruit & Deli, in Fairy Meadow, with their very generous donation of 50kg of very tasty sausages and also to Darren Cousins, from Coke, who donated all our drinks.
