First,determinehowmanylevelsofcompetition,ifany,willoccurbetweenschoolspellingbeesandyourFinalLocalBee.Ifstudentswillcompeteinadistrict spelling bee beforeyourFinalLocalBee,thereisonelevelofcompetitionbetweenyourschool-levelandFinalLocal-levelspellingbees.

Ifstudentswillcompeteinadistrict spelling bee andthenaregional spelling bee,therearetwolevelsofcompetitionbetweenyourschool-levelandFinalLocal-levelspellingbees.

Onceyouhavedeterminedthenumberoflevelsyourlocalareaspellingbeeprogramwillcontain,usethechartonthenextpagetoworkbackwardfromyourFinalLocalBeeDatetoyourSchoolSpellingBeeDeadline.

Calculating Your School CreditsAsrecognitionoftheworkyoudowithschoolsinyourarea,wearepleasedtoprovideyouwithfinancialcreditsforeachschoolthatenrollsinyourlocalprogram.

OnFebruary1,2019,wewillcalculateyourTotalCreditEarnedusingthefollowingvalues:

$18 for each school enrolled in your areaor

$10 for each home school family enrolled in your area

Forexample,let’slookatanareawith100schoolsand20homeschoolfamiliesandcalculateitsTotalCreditEarned.

(100 schools x $18) + (20 home school families x $10) = $2,000

Inthisexample,the$2,000TotalCreditEarnedisgreaterthantheSponsorFeeof$1,925.Wewouldsendthissponsoracheckforanythingthesponsorhasearnedincreditsabove$1,925.

$2,000 - $1,925 = $75 owed to Sponsor

IftheTotalCreditEarnedislessthanthe$1,925SponsorFee,thesponsorwillreceiveaninvoicefortheamountowedtotheBee,andpaymentinfullwouldbeduebyMarch31,2019.Forinstance,anareawith50schoolsand10homeschoolfamilieswouldhaveaTotalCreditEarnedoflessthan$1,925.

(50 schools x $18) + (10 home school families x $10) = $1,000

Therefore,thatareasponsorwouldreceiveaninvoicefortheremainderoftheSponsorFee.
