Volunteer – Additional Students / Children
We are a band family and want to include as many folks as possible. However, some volunteer areas are not appropriate for younger and/or alumni students.
Guidelines to follow:Volunteer positions should be filled by current band parents first; if additional help is needed, younger students and/or alumni may be considered depending on the role
Do not assume; Band Director, Band Aides President and/or VP Liaison need to approve parents bringing children along when volunteering
If approved, additional children must not be a distraction during the event or for the parent who has volunteered for role
57
FundraisingJenn Brown
Overview
Fundraising supports the band AND helps offset personal costs of participationAll families participate; raising money is two-fold:
General fund: uniforms, trucks and drivers, insurance, props, music, staff, etc.Personal costs: uniform maintenance, band camp, trips, etc.
Band members before your students were born were raising funds that paid for today’s uniforms. We are helping today’s band members with their events and also saving to help future band members.
