ClassicConservatory Advantages

Glass & Windows Ltd

At Stratton Glass and Windows we have been installing conservatories for almost 3 decades! This has helped us become a leading conservatory installer in East Anglia. Once of the main factors of our success is the Classic Roof system that we use. It is safe, secure, thermally efficient and looks great. We hope you like it.

Ventilation of your new living space is vital to maintain a comfortable environment. Our super strong classic conservatory ridges come with a built in ventilation system. As warm air rises, this built in system allows moisture to escape, minimising the potential of condensation and therefore damp.

Internal Conservatory Options

Glass & Windows Ltd

As conservatory isn’t just a white box anymore. We offer internal pelmets for an orang-ery effect, solid roofs with glaz-ing panels, coloured frames and roofs plastered columns, specialist lighting and heating all which make the space warm and cosy in the winter whilst maintaining the light and spacious feel of a sunroom.

Adding the optional internal pelmet to your conservatory adds warmth and style. The finished article achieves the appearance of

an orangery from inside without the added cost of multiple trades and engineering

calculations normally associated with traditional orangeries. This modern

design is created by adding framework internally that is packed

with insulation and then plastered to create an impressive angular finish. The pelmet is ideal for hosting LED down-lighters and even speakers.

Heating FlooringWhilst your con-servatory will be thermally efficient it will need heating.

You can choose from electric panel heating, designer electric corner heaters, underfloor heat-ing or traditional plumbed in wet radiators.

We can leave the concrete as left by the builder to allow you to source your own flooring.

Alternatively we have a variety of floor choices for you to choose from including tiles, laminates, vinyl, timber and carpets.

Choose from wall lights, hanging ridge lights, lamps or for a modern twist up-grade to a pelmet to allow for LED downlights. We also offer a plastered ridge to add to the warmth of the room. perfect for hanging lights or LED also.

Our ALL NEW solid roofs offer a contemporary twist on the con-ventional conservatory. Not a conservatory or extension but a sunroom! Thanks to modern insulation they come with vaulted ceilings. Unlike the conventional conservatory, these truly are all year round rooms. We recommend adding glazed roof lights to flood the room with natural light.

The Ultraroof is pre-fabricated & structurally approved. The roof is also topped with low maintenance, UV resistant tiles as standard.

Most competing roofs require unsightly tie bars to keep the roof structure sound. However, our 380mm Ultraroof beam NEVER requires a tie bar.

No Tie Bars Ever

For a truly bespoke design the Ultraroof offers an option for full height glazing. This floods your home with natural light for a relaxing atmosphere.

Highly Insulated Box beam

Rather than the frames meeting the vaulted ceiling at 450’s, which is awk-ward and leaves a sloppy plaster finish

Most solid roof systems have a hollow aluminium beam that sit on top of the window frames. Aluminium is cold so can attract condensation causing damp spots. To prevent this our roof comes with a larger beam that is packed full of insulation for added warmth.

Roofline OrangeryThis system involves us con-structing the insulated flat roof that sits on top of the brickwork. We then install the desired quantity of raised glazed lantern roofs. Our lantern roofs are con-structed to increase sight lines with the minimal amount of bars.

The timber roof is made water-tight with a choice of finishes. We offer traditional asphalt flat roof, a Ruberoid roof or fibre-glass roof. To add further character exter-nally we finish the sides of the timber roof with decorative fascia and gutters.

As with the plinth system, our fascia system has an internal pelmet that is ideal for hosting LED down-lights and or wireless speakers to connect to your devices.

* Orangery drawings are for illustrative purposes only. Every structure can vary depending on the method of construction.

These timeless traditional extensions are best suited to larger properties. Topped with a glazed roof lantern that allows

light to flood in during the day and allows you to gaze at

the stars at night. This method involves constructing brickwork above the height of the

lowest point of the roof to conceal the flat roof and

guttering, achieving the im-pressive traditional orangery.

Casement windows are the most popular window frame used on conserva-tories due to their versatility and simplicity. They come in a choice of cham-fered, sculptured and flush mouldings along with a vast variety of colours. French windows can be used as an option for an unobstructed opening.

Tilt and turn windows are fantastic for conservatories as they allow impres-sively large openings, meaning more glass and less frame. They “tilt” inwards for ventilation or with a further twist of the handle the window open all the way on side hinges.

PolycarbonatePolycarbonate is a very popular glazing material as it is light-weight, durable and has unparalleled strength, which is up to 200 times stronger than glass and virtually shatter-proof. With a colour choice of clear, bronze, opal, bronze/opal and heat-guard. All are designed to reduce glare and minimise solar heat gain. Bronze/Opal gives a bright internal appearance even on a dull day, reduces solar heat gain and provides privacy. Heat-guard limits the potential for heat build-up within the conservatory, whilst allowing light to enter the roof, deflecting solar radiation and reducing solar heat gain.

Conservatories are generally glazed with polycarbonate sheets or double glazed units (glass). Polycarbonate is the cheaper option but generally isn’t as efficient. Glass is the ideal glazing option to any conservatory or orangery to maximise light whilst achieving high thermal performance. It is important to note that south facing conservatories receive the most solar heat gain, while north facing ones gain the least.

✅ Self Cleaning

Blocks UV from the sun, helping to protect your furniture from fading.

🔅 UV Blocking

Insulation is measured in W/m²K, this is known as the U Value. The lower the U value the less heat escapes through your roof and therefore reduces your heating costs.

🌡 Highly Insulated
