The 2020 Stallion Directory contains a list of the stallions that have registered with the Maine State Harness Racing Commission office indicating they are eligible to stand in the State of Maine during the 2020 breeding season.

I encourage anyone who wishes to become a part of the Maine Sire Stakes program to contact the owners/agents of these stallions and breed his/her mare(s) to ensure the resulting foal is eligible to the Maine Standardbred Breeders Stake Program. The estimated purses available for the 2020 season should be approximately $1,900,000.

Finally, I would also encourage everyone who has a Maine sired horse to become a member of the Maine Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association. This organization keeps its membership abreast of the latest issues facing the industry, sponsors educational seminars, and provides timely information regarding payments and race schedules.

Welcome to the 2020 Maine Sire Stakes Stallion Directory

The Board of Directors of the Maine Standard bred Breeders and Owners

Association, welcome you to our 2020 Maine Sire Stakes Stallion Directory. For the

upcoming breeding season, several quality stallions have registered with the Maine

State Harness Racing Commission. The breeding season runs from February 15th to July

15th of each calendar year.

For those of you that may be breeding a mare for the first time it's vitally

important to do some research. The goal of "Pedigree Matching" is to find a way to

match up the bloodlines in the maternal lines of the sire with the lineage in the

bloodlines of the dam. Many have wondered why even the best stallions have so many

"average" offspring and why a mare with meek breeding can produce a champion.

Matching bloodlines has proven results over the years, so I encourage you to do your

research. Making a good informed decision in your match will give you a much better

chance of a return on your investment.

Your 2020 foal will be eligible to the lucrative Maine Standardbred Breeders

Stakes Program, so take a moment to browse through our directory for an opportunity

to breed to one of the many eligible stallions.
