LOCAL LET PROJECTS 1

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 12, is responsible for the maintenance and construction on all Interstates, U.S. and State Routes in unincorporated municipalities in Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties. Each spring, we shift our focus from snow and ice removal to the construction and maintenance of our roadways.

The 2020 Construction Program includes information about major construction projects in the District 12 tri-county area. This includes projects that are administered by ODOT and those that ODOT has contributed money to that are being administered by local agencies.

DESCRIPTION: Replace and widen the I-77 bridge over I-490 in the city of Cleveland to three lanes in each direction. (CCG6A) Work to be completed in 2020 includes the concrete overlay of the northbound bridge, surface course of pavement over the entire project, and median barrier construction.

IMPACT: Traffic will be maintained utilizing traffic shifts. Intermittent ramp closures at the I-77/I-490 interchange. Detours will be posted.

Work in 2020 includes sidewalk repairs, and various work to the bridge driving surface. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. There will be various parking lot closures around the bridge.

The ramp from I-271 northbound to I-90 westbound will be closed for multiple weekends. Detours will be posted. I-271 between Eddy Rd. and I-90 will have various lane restrictions.

LOCATION: Vrooman Road in LeRoy and Perry Townships.




DESCRIPTION: Construct a new bridge on Vrooman Rd. over the Grand River; realign the intersection of Vrooman Rd. and SR 84 (S. Ridge Rd.); and the resurfacing of Vrooman Rd. between I-90 and the Grand River in LeRoy and Perry Twps. Work in 2020 will include the bridge driving surface construction and the reconstruction of Vrooman Rd. between I-90 and south of the new bridge.

IMPACT: Vrooman Rd. will be closed between Seeley Rd. and SR 84 (S Ridge Rd.) during the construction of the new bridge. Motorists are detoured via I-90, SR 44 and SR 84. Through October 2020, the intersection of Seeley Rd. and Vrooman Rd. is closed. Seeley Rd. will remain accessible via Paine Rd.
