WELCOME!

The YBOA Coaches Guide includes new COVID-19 Protocols and Procedures. We ask for your patience during the event as our goal is and will always be the safety and well-being of our guests. YBOA’s goal is to not only present the highest quality national basketball event but provide tremendous vacation opportunities for families and guests in the heart of Central Florida, with easy access to all of the world-class attractions and activities in the area.

Please review and share all information included in your YBOA National Championship Coaches Guide. The Coaches Guide was developed to inform your team of important event information as well as help maximize your experience while participating in the YBOA National Championship.

Welcome to the 2020 YBOA National Championship at the New! AdventHealth Fieldhouse in Winter Haven, Florida. Congratulations on this tremendous accomplishment. We’re happy to welcome you and glad you’ve joined us for this exciting event. We wish your team the best of luck and hope you enjoy your stay. 2020 YBOA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – GENERAL INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATES

Week 1: July 14-17, 2020 Boys Grades: 6th, 7th, 8th

Week 2: July 18-21, 2020 Boys Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry Fee: $495.00 per team All fees are payable by Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover via PayPal. (All entries will be subject to a $20.00 administrative fee)

Entry & Cancelation Deadline: Sunday, July 5th Midnight A $75.00 processing fee will be applied for canceled registrations prior to the registration deadline. No refunds are issued after the registration/cancelation deadline.

All registrations must be received with payment at time of submission. No faxed or emailed registrations will be accepted. Please refer to your individual state qualifying procedures. Teams will be verified for eligibility to participate.

MANDATORY YBOA MEMBERSHIP

Each team must be registered members of YBOA. For more information regarding membership, please visit the YBOA National website at yboa.org.

LODGING OPTIONS

YBOA has inspected and negotiated great rates at most major lodging facilities in and around the game sites which offer the best amenities and access to games. Reservation Hotline: (321) 356-8518 Email: [email protected]

PLAYER CERTIFICATION & DOCUMENTATION

All teams are required to submit a Team Certification package for every player before he/she can participate which must include copies of the following: (1) Official YBOA Roster (2) Individual Player Birth Certificate (3) Individual Player Report Card (4) Individual Player Picture (current head shot only) (5) Player Release Form (if applicable)

Players without acceptable birth records or report cards will not be allowed to participate. For more information, see YBOA Rules & Regulations at yboa.org.

ROSTER INFORMATION & LIMITS

All rosters will be limited to 15 players per team.

No changes may be made to a roster after the YBOA National Championship registration deadline. For more information, see YBOA Rules & Regulations at yboa.org.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Minimum Game Guarantee: 4

Each grade level will first be seeded in Pool Play according to 2019 National/American Championship final results. 2020 State Championship results (if applicable) and At-Large team history will be utilized to seed all remaining teams. Teams will enter Bracket Play and seeded according to Pool Play results. Larger divisions will include both a National Championship bracket (better pool play record) and American Championship bracket.

UNIFORMS

All teams must have either reversible jerseys (light & dark) or two sets of jerseys (light & dark). The home team will wear light-colored jerseys. Jerseys must have permanent numbers on the front and back. International rules apply to allow numbers from 00-99. Numbers must be at least 2” in height on the front of the jersey at least 4” in height on the back of the jersey. If undershirts are worn, they must be the same dominant color of the jersey.

EQUIPMENT

Tape, towels, etc. are acceptable in the facility and must be provided by each team. Each team is expected to leave the bench area in a neat and clean condition after each game.

BASKETBALLS

Teams must provide their own warm-up basketballs. YBOA will provide game basketballs.

CONDUCT

The Head Coach is responsible for the behavior and actions of players, assistant coaches, parents and those associated with their organization.

LIVE! REAL-TIME GAME INFORMATION

Game schedules will be posted at yboa.org

To receive text alerts on your mobile phone with game results, alerts and next game information:

1. Text your Team ID Number to 234-542-6343.

2. Your Team ID Number is located on the game schedule next to your team name.

You will receive texts with your team's scores and next game information upon completion of every game.

Teams can follow as many other teams as they would like (separate the Team ID numbers with a comma).

BENCH CREDENTIALS

A maximum of 3 registered coaches and 15 players are permitted on the bench and court. Everyone in the playing area is required to visibly display their bench credential. Coaches bands/credentials will be issued on Registration Day during the check-in process. Only coaches listed on a team’s official YBOA roster will be issued a coaches band/credential. Photo identification will be required to receive coaches band/credential. Coaches arriving after Registration Day may pick-up their coaches band/credential with proper photo identification at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse.

GAME ADMISSION

EXACT CASH ONLY

(no change will be available for any transaction) NO RE-ENTRY PER INDIVUDAL GAME

Adults: $10.00 per game (Ages 18+) Student: $5.00 per game (Ages 6-17) Small Children: FREE (Ages 5 & Under)

COVID-19 FACILITY PROCEDURES

Every participant and guest is required to adhere to all COVID-19 procedures as set forth by all facilities, their management as well as local and state governments. Each facility reserves the right to refuse any patron, player or coach from entering the building. Failure to follow any procedure could result in removal from the facility or further action. Due to COVID-19, the following building policies will be in place throughout the event:

(1) All players, coaches, and spectators will be required

to wear a mask when entering and exiting the facility. (2) Only the teams and their guests of each individual

game will be allowed in the facility at one time. Teams and guests are encouraged to wait in their vehicle or covered outdoor area until the appropriate entry time for their respective game.

(3) Maximum capacity for spectators is set at 250 per

game session. Due to facility capacity restrictions, spectator admission is not guaranteed. Spectators cannot be admitted after each game session capacity has been reached.

(4) No spectators are allowed on the court level. All spectators must remain on the mezzanine (upper level) throughout the entirety of their game.

(5) All spectators will be required to wear a mask and practice 6-foot social distancing guidelines (non-related spectators) during the entirety of each game session.

(6) Teams and spectators must immediately exit the

facility after each individual game through the appropriate marked exit doors.

If any player, coach, spectator, or staff is not feeling well or has been exposed to a person with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, he/she should stay home. All players, coaches, spectators, and staff will receive a digital temperature check each time they enter the facility. Admission is EXACT CHANGE ONLY (no exceptions). No change will be available for any transaction (see prices below). There is a NO RE-ENTRY policy for each individual game. Sanitization methods will be used between games and before next teams and spectators can enter.

What you should know about COVID-19 to protect yourself and others

Know about COVID-19• Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an illness caused

by a virus that can spread from person to person.

• The virus that causes COVID-19 is a new coronavirus that has spread throughout the world.

• COVID-19 symptoms can range from mild (or no symptoms) to severe illness.

Know how COVID-19 is spread• You can become infected by coming into

close contact (about 6 feet or two arm lengths) with a person who has COVID-19. COVID-19 is primarily spread from person to person.

• You can become infected from respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.

• You may also be able to get it by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it, and then by touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

Protect yourself and others from COVID-19• There is currently no vaccine to protect

against COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself is to avoid being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19.

• Stay home as much as possible and avoid close contact with others.

• Wear a cloth face covering that covers your nose and mouth in public settings.

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

go to the doctor, and complete banking activities online when possible.

• If you must go in person, stay at least 6 feet away from others and disinfect items you must touch.

• Get deliveries and takeout, and limit in-person contact as much as possible.

Prevent the spread of COVID-19 if you are sick• Stay home if you are sick,

except to get medical care.

• Avoid public transportation, ride-sharing, or taxis.

• Separate yourself from other people and pets in your home.

• There is no specific treatment for COVID-19, but you can seek medical care to help relieve your symptoms.

• If you need medical attention, call ahead.

Know your risk for severe illness• Everyone is at risk of

getting COVID-19.

• Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for more severe illness.
