The ASCA has reserved a room block for convention attendees. Room rates are $159.00 plus tax per night (single/double). Please be sure to make your reservation as soon as possible by calling 334-481-5000. Remember to request the Alabama State Chiropractic Association rate. CANCELLATION POLICYWe understand that unexpected events can sometimes force a registrant to cancel. It is the policy of the ASCA that all seminar fees are non-refundable. However, we will issue a credit for all fees paid for a future seminar for you or your staff to be used within a two year time frame.

ANNUAL MEETING LUNCHEONCalling all ASCA Members to join us as we CELEBRATE being together again! This year’s General Session Luncheon is coming together and looks to be one of the best yet; so get ready to eat, drink and be merry! The Luncheon will be Saturday from 10:45 am - 12:30 pm. We will also be electing the new ASCA officers and voting on the ASCA annual award winners. To nominate someone for an award, visit the ASCA website to download the official nomination form. The deadline for nominations is May 21, 2021. You MUST pre-register before May 21 to attend the luncheon and only those who pre-register will be served lunch.

Rotator cuff injuries alone account for 4.5 million physician office visits per year. Management of this problem can range from frustrating to rewarding, depending on the depth of your training. This class is a practical 8-hour workshop outlining everything participants need to know about successfully treating shoulder and elbow problems. Dr. Steele will highlight the latest research-based “best practices” for evaluating, managing, and directing simple in-office or home-based rehab. He will also present a complimentary hands-on workshop of specific mobilization and manipulative techniques per diagnosis. Attendees will leave this class with greater understanding and confidence about how to manage the most common problems outside of the spine.

This will be a practical discussion of Alabama Rules, Regulations and Laws. This session has been approved to fulfill the annual Jurisprudence Requirement of the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (4 CE Hours) Chiropractic Imaging and Case Studies Dr. Steve Gould, DC, DACBR, FICC Sponsored by NCMIC
During the first half of the session, Dr. Gould will discuss multiple abnormalities of the upper cervical spine that may or may not have predictable neurologic signs and symptoms. Some of these disorders may not be amenable to spinal manipulative therapy. Plain film radiographic and advanced imaging findings will be discussed for various anomalous and pathologic conditions. In the second half of session, Dr. Gould will present multiple “real world” cases from fellow chiropractors. Clinical presentation and imaging findings will be discussed for many of these interesting and sometimes surprising cases. This presentation is sure to keep your attention, as these patients could easily walk into your office depth of your training.

For the past 30 years, Dr. Juergens has been treating world-class athletes from around the globe. During this 6-hour presentation, Dr. Juergens will review lower extremity biomechanics and will share his experiences on how to diagnose and manage lower extremity injuries. He will also demonstrate how to incorporate into your practice state of the art modalities and a variety of active care techniques. Dr. Juergens will present case studies on common and uncommon lower extremity conditions. This course will provide useful information that you can implement in the treatment of your patients when you return to work Monday morning.

The learning objective is for attendees to understand the current scientific concepts of vertebral subluxation. The class will cover the evolution of vertebral subluxation in the chiropractic profession. The class will cover the different concepts of vertebral subluxation, a review of basic biomechanics and neurology, and will categorize the components of subluxation. The bulk of this presentation will be from Leach’s “The chiropractic theories: a textbook of scientific research”. The presentation will conclude by looking at current published research in subluxation and a discussion of the discourse happening today in the profession concerning subluxation.
