Introduction
OMITC Academy is a segment of Operatec group that was founded in 2013 to provide HSE and
Technical training for the Maritime & Oil and Gas segments.
OPERATEC’s OMITC Academy is working in accordance with Decree No. 38/09 of August 14,
pursuant to law No. 10/04, November 12 Law for oil activities (MINPET), in article no. 23 of principles to
promote the safety, health and hygiene at work with companies who work in Angolan territory.
OMITC Academy Angola has its presence in Lunda and Cabinda. The academy started with its
initial training center in Cabinda at the ESS Industrial Village (formerly Malembo Development Center), a
mere 4-kilometer ride from the Chevron’s Malongo facility. The academy was perceived to address
logistical issues of the O&G community with the intend to be able to offer courses to a larger group of
participants. A new training facility has now been established in Luanda, which is conveniently located at
Sequele, Luanda.
OMITC offers a wide range of safety training courses relevant to the offshore oil and gas industry, including TBOSIET, HUET, TFOET, HAR, BST STCW and “MSW5 Critical Roles” as per international standards. Industrial Safety trainings compromises of BLS, BFF, Signal Man, LOTO and Defensive Driving. Onsite training’s at client locations locally and internationally as per client’s requirements are also organized on request. OMITC even provides technical training that will help an individual attain expertise and technical knowledge that will help them progress in their relevant field of work.
OMITC’s goal is to create a closer and more efficient relationship with leading suppliers in the Maritime Oil & Gas industry by constantly delivery better value for money through geographical expansion and using innovation to expand our portfolio of training service solutions. Our aim is to make Operatec Academy’s operation’s competitive and available to the indigenous populace and operators in general.
