AFRICAN ROAD SAFETY 2006

3RD ANNUAL

Dear Road Safety Manager

With the 2010 Soccer World Cup drawing closer, there is a greater focus on the capacity of South African transport systems to handle the influx of participants and spectators who are expected to visit the country. The challenge is in ensuring that these systems are managed efficiently to ensure safe travel for all.

Last year, IQPC’s 2nd Annual Road Safety event attracted several delegates from across Southern Africa to discuss the latest developments in traffic safety and to come up with solutions to address current challenges. Extensive research with road safety professionals has shown that there is a need for proactive contributions from all parties involved in road safety. In order to achieve improved road safety on our roads, there needs to be a system that efficiently integrates the respective duties of all stakeholders involved in road safety.

After two successful road safety events, the 3rd Annual Road Safety conference promises to be even better!  African Road Safety 2006 contains a fresh line-up of speakers, new content, updated statistics, a host of expert speakers and a portion dedicated to African-specific challenges! In addition, African Road Safety 2006 includes workshop sessions and interactive panel discussions that will make this event a truly memorable, experiential and interactive conference.

IQPC is proud to announce that the following key players in road safety management will be involved in the dialogue at African Road Safety: Road Traffic Management Corporation, KwaZulu Natal Department of Transport, South African National Roads Agency, Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department, South African Road Federation, Global Road Safety Partnerships, Stay Alert, Stay Alive, amongst others.

Regards

Sichelesile MoyoProject Manager, IQPC South Africa

‘Road Safety is a huge challenge which requires a fundamental rethink,
