The Athabasca Watershed Council (AWC) is seeking applications for the position of Executive Director. Thisfull-time position is based in our office in Athabasca, Alberta. Suitable candidates would live in the Athabascaarea, have a post-secondary degree or diploma (a degree or diploma in sciences or an environmental field isdesirable; related experience and education may be accepted as equivalent), significant experience workingwith multi-stakeholder groups and boards, proven project management and financial management skills, humanresource management experience, proven fund-raising capacities, a high level of communication skills, and bemotivated to carry out community outreach and educational programming. Significant travel and irregular hoursof work are required.
Established in 2009, the Athabasca Watershed Council is a not-for-profit organization and a designatedWatershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) that works in partnership with the Government of Alberta toachieve the goals outlined in the Provincial Government’s Water for Life Strategy.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
