Class Assembly

This week Y2G led a wonderful assembly about generosity. The assembly had an African theme with a fantastic piece of drama about the trickster Anansi. We also saw a well rehearsed African dance and song. The maturity of the delivery was very impressive. Well done to all of you! Timperley Track 21st June Good Luck to the team who are competing this afternoon! New kit Here is a photograph of our new sports kit. There are tops, shorts and skorts. After School Clubs for September Due to the increasing number of children attending the after school clubs we have decided to find a digital method for enrollment in the clubs. Therefore parents will no longer complete a registration form and will need to sign up for the clubs directly on Parentpay in September. Before the holiday we will issue a list of clubs just as usual. In September when the date is given, parents will log into Parentpay and the clubs available for their children will appear in their account. The clubs will have limited availability and places will be assigned on a first come/first served basis. Once the club is full, payment will no longer be accepted on Parentpay. Paying by childcare voucher is still possible but the first payment will have to be made from you through Parentpay, in order to reserve the place. The vouchers can then be arranged as usual and the school will refund the cost into your account. Charity Donations Following on from Y2G’s class assembly on generosity, we are pleased to say that we are able to buy Evelyn in Uganda her house for £500. The money collected by the Y5M cake sale, held just before the holiday, was put with the money collected from school, giving a total over the amount needed. The balance will be given to Ugandaid to pay for other necessities and clothes for her family or other families in great need. The cake sale raised £400 and the remainder of the cakes were sold outside Archie (Y5) house by Archie and Joshua, to walkers the following day. Alongside a kind extra donation, this raised an additional £100, thus totalling £500 from Y5M alone! A massive thank you to Y5M, Mrs Platts, other Y5M parents and James for organising the event. This will be life-changing for the lady concerned and for her family; your generosity with this has been incredible. Just to let you know how generous we have all been this year:

● Last year’s Y6 Enterprise Challenge raised £1, 907.66 for various charities ● The Children’s Society - £465 ● Children in Need - £618.61 ● Save the Children (Christmas jumper day) - £436.32 ● Hemi-Help - £504.50 ● Sports Relief - £491.89

Of course we also support the charity Ugandaid and pay for the education of two students every year. This term,Y6 will be raising money in their Enterprise Challenge ventures. It would be great if you could support them also. Thank you for all your support and generosity this year. Oliver performances This year’s school performance is Oliver and the children are rehearsing hard to put on a good show. The Upper and Lower Junior choir children will all be taking part on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th July at 7pm. There will be a dress rehearsal next Friday 29th June during the school day, when all of the children will need their costumes. The children will be given instructions about arrival times for performances next week. This year for the first time we have a live accompaniment, which will be both exciting and interesting for the children.

We are expecting large audiences both nights. Unless your child has a main part, please do not come twice to see the show. All of the BCS children will have seen it during ‘polishing up’ performances for the school that week and will therefore not need to come again unless you have found it impossible to get a babysitter. Tatton Park Trip Year Five donned their Victorian apparel, gained a Victorian name and went to Tatton Hall to work as servants earlier this week. They cooked, made beds, laid fires, polished metal items and scrubbed floors, amongst other things! Despite all the work, they were all keen to impress the housekeeper and get a much coveted position in the staff there, as alternative jobs were considerably worse…! The children all learnt an immense amount on this excellent visit and their behaviour was impressive. Thank you to the staff and parents who supported the trip.

Go4th Go4th is at school this Sunday 10.45am and the theme is ‘Peace.’ Pet Service The much anticipated annual pet service this year will be on Sunday 8th July 2018- 10.45 at St. Mary’s Church. More Sporting Success

Imogen was in action at the ice rink again this weekend, winning the artistic competition. She will now go forward to represent Altrincham in a nationwide competition. Congratulations Imogen. Here she is looking literally angelic. Well done to Maisy and George who ran in the Abersoch 3k over the holiday. They did extremely well with Maisy finishing 14th out of the girls and George finishing 21st in the boys - 500 children took part.
