22 nd American Peptide Symposium A fter visits to the unique venues of Montreal, Que- bec and Bloomington, Indiana, the American Pep- tide Society brings its 22 nd Symposium back to sunny San Diego. The theme of this years meeting ‘‘Building Bridges’’ symbolizes the important role that peptide science currently plays in so many other disci- plines and explores the potential impact peptides can make in scientific fields that have yet to realize the utility of these wonderful molecules. The Symposium will bring together investigators of varying backgrounds, with the goal of stimu- lating discussion, and catalyzing multidisciplinary collabora- tions in order to push the frontiers of peptide science. Nobel Laureates Roger Tsien and Barry Sharpless, amongst other leaders will share their most recent discoveries. Early career investigators will enjoy a round-table profes- sional development luncheon, poster competitions, the op- portunity to give invited oral presentations with a chance to win one of several Bert Schram Young Investigator Awards. All attendees will enjoy outstanding lectures given by cele- brated scientists as well as up-and-coming stars. A venue, Sheraton Hotel and Marina on Harbor Island, has been carefully selected to facilitate scientific interaction by enabling the mixing of posters, exhibitors and social and professional networking within 27,000 square feet of com- mon space situated alongside the beautiful San Diego Har- bor. Exhibitors will enjoy high traffic volume from the poster sessions as well as lunch sessions, where attendees will eat their symposium-provided lunches at round-top tables mixed amongst the exhibitors. The main lecture auditorium is directly proximal to the exhibitors’ space, also ensuring high visibility. Need a little fresh air? Step out from your both and onto the manicured lawn that overlooks the San Diego Harbor, the view is beautiful. The venue not only facilitates scientific discussion, but also provides a truly enjoyable environment outside of the lecture rooms. The hotel features several beautiful pools, a picturesque harbor, sports facilities, and good restaurants. The hotel is a short distance from the international airport and close to downtown for those interested in exploring the excellent cuisine and culture that San Diego has to offer. The dates of the symposium have been chosen to provide an excellent opportunity to bring the family to stay a few days beyond the Symposium and explore the San Diego Zoo, aquarium, museums, and sandy beaches. Please join us for an exploration of cutting edge peptide research in a beautiful and convenient setting to celebrate the long and prestigious history of this biennial meeting. 22nd American Peptide Symposium

After visits to the unique venues of Montreal, Que-

bec and Bloomington, Indiana, the American Pep-

tide Society brings its 22nd Symposium back to

sunny San Diego. The theme of this years meeting

‘‘Building Bridges’’ symbolizes the important role

that peptide science currently plays in so many other disci-

plines and explores the potential impact peptides can make

in scientific fields that have yet to realize the utility of these

wonderful molecules. The Symposium will bring together

investigators of varying backgrounds, with the goal of stimu-

lating discussion, and catalyzing multidisciplinary collabora-

tions in order to push the frontiers of peptide science. Nobel

Laureates Roger Tsien and Barry Sharpless, amongst other

leaders will share their most recent discoveries.

Early career investigators will enjoy a round-table profes-

sional development luncheon, poster competitions, the op-

portunity to give invited oral presentations with a chance to

win one of several Bert Schram Young Investigator Awards.

All attendees will enjoy outstanding lectures given by cele-

brated scientists as well as up-and-coming stars.

A venue, Sheraton Hotel and Marina on Harbor Island,

has been carefully selected to facilitate scientific interaction

by enabling the mixing of posters, exhibitors and social and

professional networking within 27,000 square feet of com-

mon space situated alongside the beautiful San Diego Har-

bor. Exhibitors will enjoy high traffic volume from the poster

sessions as well as lunch sessions, where attendees will eat

their symposium-provided lunches at round-top tables

mixed amongst the exhibitors. The main lecture auditorium

is directly proximal to the exhibitors’ space, also ensuring

high visibility. Need a little fresh air? Step out from your

both and onto the manicured lawn that overlooks the San

Diego Harbor, the view is beautiful.

The venue not only facilitates scientific discussion, but

also provides a truly enjoyable environment outside of the

lecture rooms. The hotel features several beautiful pools, a

picturesque harbor, sports facilities, and good restaurants.

The hotel is a short distance from the international airport

and close to downtown for those interested in exploring the

excellent cuisine and culture that San Diego has to offer. The

dates of the symposium have been chosen to provide an

excellent opportunity to bring the family to stay a few days

beyond the Symposium and explore the San Diego Zoo,

aquarium, museums, and sandy beaches.

Please join us for an exploration of cutting edge peptide

research in a beautiful and convenient setting to celebrate

the long and prestigious history of this biennial meeting.
