The perspective is that “if you build it they will come.” Through A variety of means churches intend to draw people

into their community, often in A building. The hope is that once they are here, they can hear the gospel and be

discipled. Sometimes this can lead to a Christian consumerism if we are only attracting folks with shiny lights,

top notch pastor jokes, childcare and good programming.

The perspective of this type of church is marked by a sending out of the church into the world, rather than the

world coming to church. This means that the primary role of church leadership is to equip the saints for

works of ministry (Eph. 4:11-12).

Missional Church

MISSIONSUpdate

• We have been working with Worthington Elementary for three years.

• CBC has 14 volunteers participating• CBC spends an estimated 45 volunteer hours at the

school per week• CBC helps in assisting teachers, and helping mentor

students, etc.• CBC provided 15 thanksgiving baskets for families in

need• CBC has provided many appreciation meals for

Worthington's staff

• Church budgets $3,000 annually (not including other contributions)

• Baby bottle drive - amount collected $2212.42• Diapers & wipes drive - approx. 75 of each were collected• Around 6 volunteers served as volunteers for the CBC

baby shower • CBC hosted the Elizabeth’s Hope Banquet for

approximately 350 people• CBC gave 15 thanksgiving baskets to Elizabeth’s Hope

clients• One of our CBC members - Samantha Malone is now the

center’s manager at Elizabeth’s Hope Pregnancy Resources here in Chillicothe

• CBC helps purchase class materials for inmates • CBC men are there 3 times per week for an hour and a

half each• This is an estimate of around 675-700 man hours for the

year • 11 men from CBC serve at RCI weekly• 1 Salvation 2017• Helped 1 Inmate connected with a local church• Had 30 inmates participated in the program• 11 inmates graduated from the program• Angle Tree participation- where we helped provide gifts

for many families who had a family member in prison

• In July our youth mission team of 20 went and worked among the people of Cleveland. *One person came to Christ!

• 104 backpack and supplies were collected and taken to Gateway Church Old Brooklyn in Cleveland

• September – CBC had 19 people including young children help at a back to school bash where we saw one family attend church the next day

• CBC donated 2 large inflatable bounce houses to Gateway Old Brooklyn in Cleveland to help assist in their outreaches

• CBC exceeded our goal of $25,000 for LMCO17’ $28,887.54• The last four years we’ve given approximately $120,000 for

the glory

Operation Christmas Child

• CBC collected 1032 shoe boxes for OCC in 2017.

• CBC collected 117 Disaster Relief kits in October!.• CBC collected money for Hurricane Relief efforts this

past fall.• CBC has 2 church members involved with disaster

relief.
