Ingredients

1 Stick Butter 1/3 C Sugar 1/3 C Packed Brown Sugar 1 t Vanilla Extract 1 Large Egg 1 1/4 C Flour 1/2 t Baking Soda 1/2 t Salt 1/2 C Chopped Pecans 1/2 C Milk Chocolate Chips 1/2 C White Chips 1/2 C Chopped Dried Cranberries

Directions: Line Baking Sheets with Parchment Paper. Beat butter & sugars in large bowl until fluffy. Add vanilla & egg-beat to combine. Whisk together flour, soda & salt in medium bowl. Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Beat just until com-bined. Stir in chips, pecans & cranberries. Scoop by tablespoon & roll into balls. Arrange 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Put in fridge 30 min, then bake @ 350 for 12-15 min. Let cool 10 minutes before trans-ferring.

Happy Retirement! You Will Be Missed! This summer, Bank of Mauston said good-bye to three amazing employ-ees: Marlene Pelton, Mary Preuss, & Cheryl Schreiber. In June, Marlene & Mary retired. Their history together goes back years, starting out in 1965 when they worked together at Thorp Finance in Mauston. Marlene start-ed with Bank of Mauston in 1988 and Mary joined the bank in 1999. Both have amazing reputations with staff and customers.

• The Human Element– Technology alone can’t protect you. Attackers know that humans are vulnerable, but we are also the BEST defense. Stop and think before you act. Use common sense and verify the phone call, e-mail or link before clicking or providing information. A sense of urgency is a red flag. Stay educated and share your knowledge with oth-ers.

• Use good e-mail practices—Over 92% of malware is delivered by e-mail. If you get an email and it has an attachment or link, do the following before clicking. - Hover over the link. Does the link match the web address? - If you get an unexpected attach-ment, call the sender to verify before opening the file. Don’t respond to the email.

• Beware Free WIFI—WIFI that doesn't require login credentials is not safe. It is easy for hackers to sign onto free WIFI points and scan data waiting for unsuspecting users to be doing their online banking, shopping, or emailing. They are able to pull that data because none of the traffic is secured.

• Passwords are your friends-Use STRONG passwords or use PASS-PHRASES if possible. Do not share the same password among several ac-counts. If one account is compro-mised, all of your accounts could be at risk. Multi-factor authentication is an added security measure you can use. For example, when logging into email, not only provide a username and pass-word, but have the program send you a text message with a number you have to enter to access your e-mail account. Utilize a Password Manager if you have a lot of accounts to manage.
