Even though each ofus has styles of musicor taste that we prefer

the Bible gives us whatwe need to figure outwhat we should havein our music collection.

We must realize that music wasoriginally created by God for His gloryand honor.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receiveglory and honor and power, for you created all

things, and by your will they were created and havetheir being. (Revelation 4:11, NIV)

But like every good gift from God,Satan had perverted it for his purpose.

Art Imitates Life

Music reflects what we find importantand what we feel and think.

But does the music glorify the worldseparate from God?

Why would we want to associate withmusic that would glorify sinfulbehavior?

We sometimes have two sets of musicfor our life.

The music we sing and enjoy at church butwould not want anyone outside of church toknow we listen to.

The music we sing and enjoy in the worldbut would not want the pastor or otherChristians to hear.

It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine,nor anything which cause your brother to stumble, orcause offense or is made weak. (Romans 14:21,KJV)

Does the singer respect their audience?

Does the singer show respect when itcomes to God and those things whichare holy?

There Are No Evil Styles of Music

Many Christians think that Rock or Rapmusic is inherently evil I do not

There are many who do not like a styleof music and will find the worst who do

that music to say its evil. But we must be careful about the

message and musician because that ishow someone uses a style of music and

make it evil.

Know yourself and how you respond tocertain types of music.

But solid food is for the mature, who byconstant use trained themselves todistinguish good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14,NIV)

If you know that listening to certain kindsof music make you do sinful things then youshould listen to softer music.

Do not Conform to the World

T

he bible teaches us that we are to belight and salt to the world and not tryand imitate or conform to the it.

The music we listen to is a direct

reflection on each of us.
